LCSW, 6 years of experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in rural Illinois. I have been working in the mental health field for over 5 years. I have a passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community. I use an eclectic approach to provide trauma-informed care that fits client's unique needs. I provide a warm, empathetic, yet real strengths based perspective approach to client's via tele-health from a secure location.
Our first session will mostly be introductory. My goal will be for each of us to get familiar with one another and discuss what your goals are for therapy at this time. My hope is for us to both get a good sense if we will be a good therapeutic fit. I will give you the opportunity to ask me any questions or voice any concerns you may have before starting therapy.
My greatest strength as a provider is my compassion and ability to meet folx where they are at. It isn't helpful for someone to just tell someone what to do, or try to make someone fit into mold. My goal is to help support you in finding clarity and empowerment to make the changes you wanting in your life.
My ideal client is anyone interested in better understanding themselves and making positive changes! Anyone looking for a therapist who is gender affirming and non judgmental. Folx who may be feeling "not enough," or "too much," "lost, " and looking to address anxiety from all of the "should's" that float around in their mind.

I look forward to each session with Molly. She is incredibly kind, informative, and has provided several different tools and resources to help me navigate everyday struggles. My mental health has really improved since I began sessions, and I would recommend her to anyone considering therapy. :)

I'm excited to work with Molly, even in the first session she got me thinking about things in new ways that are really helpful and validating.
How we communicate with ourself is a huge foundational piece of mental wellness. I often utilize mindfulness self compassion with folx to help shift our thoughts from judgement rigidity to curiosity to assist our brain and body in communicating need.
It can be so easy for us to focus on the things we are doing "wrong," when we are wanting to make positive changes in our lives. When we focus our attention on our strengths, this can help us to better identify tools that actually work to make those positive changes. We will work together as a team to identify and further utilize your personal strengths to work towards your goals!
CBT is a commonly used modality to help challenge unhelpful and unbalanced ways of thinking. I help client's to better identify when they may be struggling with unhelpful thinking patterns that can affect their feelings and behaviors. We can work on challenging these thoughts, learning methods to understand where thoughts are coming from, and regulating emotions.
I have training to provide trauma informed care through Southern Illinois School of Medicine; Trauma Focus Behavioral Health Fellowship. I provide compassionate psycho-education to folx to further their understanding of what can happen to our brains and bodies when exposed to traumatic events; shifting judgement to compassionate curiosity and addressing beliefs that may be keeping them feeling "stuck."
