My name is Telisha Seagle and I graduated from Liberty university. I love working with people. I am not only a therapist, but I am also a pastor's wife. I strongly believe you should feel comfortable with the therapist you choose and should have a positive therapeutic relationship. I believe that each and every individual is capable of self-direction and growth. In counseling, I strive for a therapeutic relationship with each client that is facilitative to those ends. During sessions, I strive to maintain an environment containing unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness. My therapeutic style is primarily based on an eclectic style, however, I am a Christian therapist but will never push my beliefs on to you. I graduated with a M.A. in professional counseling. We give meaning to our beliefs, which in turn influence our feelings and behaviors. Beliefs are formed from life experiences, both positive and negative. We often feel that our emotions are controlled by others. This, however, is not true. We possess the power to control our thoughts, change our feelings and ultimately modify destructive behaviors. EMDR-play The goals of my treatment are helping lower emotional turmoil, symptom reduction, and/or reframing the presenting problem. I will work in collaboration with your primary care provider or psychiatrist, if you are on medications. I will provide psycho-education to you regarding any mental health diagnosis you receive. I look forward to working with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I would have already read why the client needs therapy and ask them what brought he or she to counseling. I would try to help client's feel comfortable, safe, and unjudged. I would get the know the client first before really diving into counseling. I would do this to help client feel comfortable, connected with me, and to help build a trustworthy relationship with clients.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my greatest strength are listening, providing compassion, and helping client's feel safe and unjudged with me.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I use many other therapies, but Being a Christian counselor allows me to help people focus on Hope which we find in Jesus. I never push my beliefs onto other people if they are not a Christian. Being a Christian counselor gives me hope as well to help others walk through their difficulties and aid for me to give wise counsel.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use person centered therapy to share compassion, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. I want people to feel safe and not judged by my counsel. I also want to focus on the whole person, mind, body, spirit and work toward people being healthier in those areas as well as their own lives.
