LCSW, 20 years of experience
Hi! My name is Erin Tucker and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I’ve worked as a social worker for over 20 years, and I’ve been licensed since 2014. With extensive experience as a medical and hospice social worker, I take an eclectic approach to counseling, including solution-focused, strengths-based and cognitive-behavioral therapies, giving me the ability to tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs. I’m so glad you’ve reached out for support and help, and I hope we’ll be able to meet soon! To that end, I’d like to let you know some things about me and my practice. I, hopefully like you, have a life and family outside of my work. Because of these responsibilities I must cancel/reschedule sessions more often than is usual. It’s inconvenient and I apologize for the necessity. However, for those clients who choose to move forward with me, I fully extend this same flexibility to them. I will never be upset or feel inconvenienced by your need to cancel or reschedule, even at the last minute. On a separate note completely, I don’t typically feel comfortable completing paperwork, such as FMLA, short-term disability, etc. for clients. I look forward to working with you!
I like to use the first session to begin to build a relationship, getting to know one another a bit and learning what you’re hoping to get from therapy.
I believe that change happens when people are encouraged to recognize their own strengths and realize their potential to live happy, fulfilling lives. I’ll help create an informal and safe atmosphere, in which together we build the rapport and trust necessary for the expression of empathy and compassion. You are the expert on yourself, your family and your life, and I hope to help you identify your inherent strength and beauty in order to live your best life.
I enjoy working with adults coping with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, aging, chronic pain/health issues, women’s issues and LGBTQIA+ concerns.
I prefer to enter into a therapeutic relationship without making assumptions about what will work for each individual, as I believe the most important piece is the relationship itself. I do utilize CBT, mindfulness and acceptance regularly depending on client needs and preferences.

What brought me to her was her history with chronic illness and infertility and when I touched on something I've dealt in the past she seemed knowledgeable and gave insight on her life or something similar. She is very welcoming and warm.
