Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW (NY/NJ) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (MA) based in NY. I received my Master's degree from Hunter College School of Social Work in 2013 and have been practicing for over 10 years. I mainly help teenagers, young adults, and seniors struggling with anxiety and relationship issues and matters of spirituality.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
Iulian’s therapy style comes from his humility and ability to get to know clients well, including what makes their experiences unique and understanding their goals for their mental health. He gently guides clients to begin to look at their challenges in a different way so they can gain more perspective. He integrates metaphors and anecdotes into his work with clients to make concepts more relatable, and also incorporates mindfulness practices to teach clients how to slow down and focus on the present. Iulian is a firm believer in a life with boundaries (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual). Iulian also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which are helpful therapy approaches for those who would like to make major changes in the way they react to things emotionally.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength is the humility in unpacking how your life course has impacted your interpersonal and intrapersonal dynamics. I am relational, interactive, and utilize a mindfulness based perspective with emphasis on the present moment to get to the root of your emotional distress.
