Hello and Welcome! I am a social worker who has been in the field for over 20 years. Early in my career, I was fortunate enough to work with a psychiatrist who believed there was more to treating mental health than medication. I participated in a training with him and I was transformed as a therapist. I was trained in the relaxation response and mindfulness meditation and using the body to help heal people who have had significant trauma and mental health challenges. From there, I went on to get my yoga teaching certification from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Since then, I have been helping children, adolescents and adults learn more about themselves and help them connect with the truest part of themselves. I believe part of my purpose is to help people learn to love themselves. I lived in CA for a long time and still hold my LCSW license. I was fortunate enough to study with a number of teachers at Spirit Rock Meditation Center who have influenced my work. I blend a number of different frameworks into my practice including trauma-informed CBT, DBT, somatic psychotherapy and self-compassion. I am mindful and respectful of all differences (racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, economic, gender, sexual orientation, ability etc.) and strive to understand each person within the context of their life history. Every person who seeks treatment has unique needs and goals. I strive to work collaboratively with you to keep your goals at the center of our work together. I stand in solidarity with the BIPOC community and all those impacted by systemic racism and oppression. I will uphold my own values and ethics and support all those who are speaking out against injustice of any kind. As a therapist, I am committed to creating a safe space for all.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions then share what challenges you are facing that brought you to therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been helping people lead healthier, happy lives by connecting with their bodies through yoga and mindfulness. When individuals decide to work with me they are choosing to be an active participant in learning how to love themselves and hold themselves in compassion no matter what challenges they face.

Compassion Focused

We often are our worst critics. We can be so mean and judgmental towards ourselves. Explore and learn to love yourself and have compassion for yourself as a human being.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

When we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings and are curious instead of reactive, we can learn about ourselves in a deeper way and how to respond to situations that happen in life with more equanimity.

Grief Therapy

Grief is something we all experience in life and yet it isn't talked about much and often people are suffering in silence. Explore ways to learn and honor your grief while holding yourself in compassion.
