Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee. I received my Masters in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Mercer University. I have experience in private practice, community mental health, and inpatient psychiatric facilities. I pride myself on being authentic, open-minded, and straight-forward with my clients. I also use my knowledge and lived experience to counsel people impacted by disability.
In our first session, I invite you to unload as much as you feel comfortable. Let's use that time to lay everything out so that we can set priorities in terms of what you want to address first. We will go at your pace and your comfort level. Also, feel free to ask me questions. A large part of your progress is going to depend on the therapeutic relationship we build.
I feel my greatest strengths are my authenticity, my genuine care for clients, and my ability to balance softness and support with appropriate confrontation and accountability.
I truly enjoy working with young adults and older who are ready to confront their past, learn how it is impacting how the operate in life now, and adopt healthier ways of navigating their life. I love people who aren't afraid to ask questions. I am also specially trained to work with people on the educational, vocational, emotional, and relational aspects of having a disability.
Having an integrative approach allows me to make the treatment fit the person rather than make the person fit the treatment. I can take some CBT, some DBT, some person-centered and use it where I need to in order to meet the client where they are.
