Hi there! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in North Carolina, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New Hampshire. I specialize primarily in working with women of color who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, daily stressors, and relationship issues. My other specialities include helping my clients to work through blocks and traumas by connecting with their bloodline ancestors (Ancestral Healing).

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Your sessions are your sacred time to discuss whatever you want without judgement. We pride ourselves on building rapport and creating intuitive wellness plans that bring about transformation for our clients. Your first session will consist of brief introductions and discussing what challenges you are experiencing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with people of color for the last several years, I've developed a pretty good playbook for helping you to (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored wellness plan that leads to measurable progress. I am very open minded, non judgemental and my quirkiness allows me to build great rapport with my clients. I am also solution focused and will help you solve immediate issues during our sessions.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I am EMDR trained and utilize this this modality to help clients work through little and big traumas to include holistic elements such as breath work and guided imagery. We will start by evaluating you to see if this modality is the best course of treatment for you. If you are diagnosed with epilepsy or other neurological conditions, this treatment may not be a good fit for you. Please disclose this information.

Jungian

I incorporate shadow work, inner child work, and tarot (imagery) in your wellness plan to achieve the best outcome for you to overcome blocks you may be experiencing in your life. You may use your own deck, purchase one, utilize online tarot images, or create one. If you do not utilize tarot cards, you may use imagery that is meaningful to you. I do not use tarot cards as a tool for readings. You may utilize the book that goes with your deck for the individual meaning of the cards you chose/pull.

Couples Counseling

I work with couples to help them build a strong foundation in their relationships and/or marriage. We will work together to help you design the relationship or marriage that works best for you and your mate. I utilize in depth assessments that show where each mate stands on certain areas such as finances, gender roles, household chores, blended families, intimacy, family, as well spiritual and cultural beliefs.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I will tailor your wellness plan to include your cultural and spiritual beliefs.

Eclectic

I pull from other evidence based modalities as needed to help you be the best version of yourself. Examples are: Journaling, Breathwork and Meditation, Yoga/Somatic exercises, sound healing, ancestral healing, guided imagery, and other modalities as deemed needed and appropriate.
