Julissa Edwards
Hi there, I’m Julissa. You may be used to being the person others depend on—managing responsibilities, showing up for everyone, and keeping things moving. But inside, you might feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from yourself. If that sounds familiar, I’m glad you’re here. You deserve a space where you can feel supported, too. I’m a licensed mental health therapist with 10 years of experience. I help adults navigate anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, and life transitions. My holistic approach combines clinical tools with mindfulness and attention to the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and body. For clients who find it meaningful, we can also explore spirituality as part of the healing process.
A space to feel understood, reconnect with yourself, and practice meaningful change—with warmth, practical tools, and room for your spiritual beliefs.
Together, we’ll make room for what you’ve been carrying, understand patterns that leave you feeling stuck, and develop practical ways to feel more grounded, set healthier boundaries, and make decisions with greater confidence. I consider it a privilege to hear your story. If this approach feels like a good fit, I invite you to schedule a first session. We’ll start where you are and explore what support could look like for you.
First session
Our first session is a chance to get to know each other and explore what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about your current concerns, relevant history, and what you hope will change. You’re welcome to ask questions, and you don’t have to share everything at once. Together, we’ll begin identifying priorities and create an initial plan that feels manageable and meaningful to you.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is helping clients reconnect with themselves beneath the expectations, responsibilities, and patterns that have shaped their lives. I bring warmth, attentive listening, and clinical experience to create a space where you can feel safe being honest—even about the things that are hard to say aloud. My approach blends meaningful exploration with practical tools. Together, we’ll understand what’s keeping you stuck, recognize your strengths, and practice new ways of responding to challenges. I offer compassionate, direct feedback while respecting your pace and your knowledge of your own life. Whether we’re exploring emotions, beliefs, or spirituality, the goal is to help you trust yourself more deeply and make choices that reflect your values, needs, and sense of purpose.
Ideal clients
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, and challenges with emotional regulation. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who manage significant personal and professional responsibilities but struggle with internal overwhelm, overthinking, and difficulty maintaining balance. Treatment focuses on developing emotional regulation skills, reducing anxiety symptoms, improving coping strategies, and increasing self-awareness. Clients often seek support with stress management, communication, and building more sustainable patterns in their daily lives.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns that influence emotions and behaviors. With over a decade of clinical experience, I guide clients to recognize unhelpful beliefs, develop healthier coping skills, and build emotional awareness. My approach blends traditional CBT with mindfulness and somatic tools, helping you not only change your thoughts but also feel calm and grounded in your body.
