As a therapist, I strive to create a supportive, authentic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood, and I value building strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, empathy, and collaboration. My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and adaptable to each individual’s unique needs and goals. I understand that every person comes into therapy with different experiences, strengths, and challenges, so I aim to meet clients where they are while helping them build practical tools for growth and healing. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered techniques to support clients in developing insight, emotional regulation, healthier coping skills, and confidence in themselves. I enjoy working with young adults and adults who may be navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, identity exploration, relationship difficulties, or feelings of being overwhelmed or stuck. My goal is not only to help clients manage current struggles but also to empower them to better understand themselves, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. Above all, I want clients to feel that therapy is a space where they can be themselves without fear of judgment while receiving support, encouragement, and guidance throughout their journey.

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." - Carl Jung. Welcome! I'm Stephanie Garcia, a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in both Hawaii and Texas. I specialize in addiction, trauma, mental health, and couples therapy. With warmth, curiosity, and a non-judgmental presence, I create a safe, empowering space where you can explore deep seated emotions, gain powerful insights, and experience real, lasting change in how you live, love, parent, and connect. Life's challenges- whether from past wounds, addictive patterns or relational struggles can disconnect us from our true Selves. My approach understands that you already hold within you the wisdom and resilience needed for transformation. I approach healing from a holistic, strengths based perspective. I draw on evidence based modalities including as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT) to support meaningful, lasting change. These tools help clients build psychological flexibility, challenge unhelpful patterns, cultivate mindfulness and values driven living (ACT), reframe thoughts and behaviors (CBT), and foster healthier, more authentic connections in relationships (RLT). I'm a therapist who genuinely loves this work and feels deeply honored by the trust my clients place in me. If you're ready to begin your journey towards deeper understanding and renewed hope, I invite you to reach out. I'd be honored to walk alongside you!

As a licensed marriage and family therapist I have particular experience and training in understanding individuals in the context of their relationships, families, and social identities. Sometimes our distress isn't just about what we're doing or not doing. Oftentimes, it's about how we move through the world in our social identities and how the world perceives and interacts with us so I want you to be able to talk about that in therapy. I can relate and find it meaningful to work with individuals suffering from anxiety. Anxiety can be crippling and paralyzing, causing us to overthink which can get in the way of so many things in life from accomplishing goals, trying new things, socializing, sleeping or even smaller things that add up until you're overwhelmed with them, like answering the phone or checking your mail. If you're feeling misunderstood, like you can't be yourself, anxious, worried, or trapped in repeating patterns that are causing you pain, I will join you where you are and we can work together to help you create a secure sense of self, and restore and improve relationships.

My name is Omar Sandoval and I could have been a statistic. The persistent financial, social, and inter- and intrapersonal adversity I experienced coming from a low socioeconomic status single parent home could have defined me were it not for hope, discipline, education, luck, and my hobbies. Instead, I am a Mexican-American English/Spanish speaking Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor practicing since 2017. I was inspired to work in this field due to many hardships growing up. Though difficult to overcome, such significant obstacles ignited my curiosity for understanding the human condition and improving upon it when and where possible, a lifelong pursuit which still guides me personally and professionally. I’m not a passive therapist—I’m a guide, a witness, and a fierce believer in your healing. With nearly three decades of clinical experience, I help individuals and couples move out of survival mode and into real, lasting transformation. My work is direct, trauma‑informed, and deeply present. If you’re ready for honest, grounded therapy that actually changes your life, I’m here I draw from CBT, DBT, somatic therapy, attachment-focused work, EMDR principles, and the Gottman Method. I integrate evidence‑based tools with intuition, nervous system awareness, and relational depth. Healing isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about remembering what has always been strong, sacred, and whole. What It’s Like to Work With Me I’m warm, grounded, and radically present. I don’t sit back and nod; I’m engaged. I help you understand your patterns quickly, regulate your nervous system, and build emotional safety within yourself and your relationships. You don’t have to carry your pain alone. I’m here to walk with you through the hard parts and help you build a life that feels steady, honest, and aligned. Who I Work Best With My clients are cycle‑breakers—smart, self‑aware people who are exhausted from repeating emotional patterns that no longer fit who they’re becoming. They want more clarity, more connection, more self‑respect, and more peace. They’re ready to stop abandoning themselves, stop settling for draining relationships, and start communicating with honesty instead of reactivity. Treatment Goals Clients learn to regulate their nervous system, heal attachment wounds, rebuild trust in themselves, and create relationships that feel reciprocal and safe. Couples repair connection, reduce conflict, and rebuild emotional intimacy. Individuals become grounded, confident, and capable of choosing relationships and environments that honor their worth. If you’re ready to begin, I’m here.

Hi, I’m Abel. I specialize in working with adults with ADHD, both men and women, as well as men navigating the pressures of work, relationships, family, and identity. I also work with couples, particularly when ADHD has become part of the conflict or disconnection in their relationship. I know firsthand how ADHD can shape your life. It affects more than focus and productivity. It can also impact emotions, confidence, and relationships. I was diagnosed in my 30s, and it helped me make sense of years of struggles with organization, responsibilities, and executive functioning. What surprised me most was how profoundly ADHD can affect relationships, especially marriage. That’s why I believe ADHD therapy has to go beyond productivity and address emotional regulation, self-worth, follow-through, and connection. As a husband of 13 years, a father, and a family man, I understand the quiet pressures many men carry. Men are often expected to be competent, steady, and dependable without always having a place to talk honestly about what happens when that becomes difficult. That perspective shapes the way I work with men: with honesty, compassion, practical tools, and real conversations without judgment. My own marriage has also taught me how much relationships require vulnerability, accountability, and teamwork, especially when navigating ADHD. That experience helps shape my work with couples as they move beyond blame and toward greater understanding, reliability, and connection. I’ve also wrestled with body image and self-worth after years of being overweight. Making meaningful changes taught me that taking care of yourself isn’t passive. It often means doing difficult things consistently because you’ve decided your well-being matters. Learning to show up for myself changed not only my health, but the way I saw and valued myself. That experience shapes how I help clients build a healthier, more grounded relationship with themselves.

Part of what led me to become a therapist was my own experience of how difficult it can be to find meaningful, accessible support when you need it. Navigating my own mental health journey helped me recognize the importance of having someone who truly listens, understands, and shows up consistently. I became a therapist because I wanted to be that person for others, to help ensure people don’t feel alone or unsupported when they’re seeking help. Throughout my life, a wide range of personal and professional experiences have shaped who I am today and strengthened my ability to genuinely connect with others. I worked in a community mental health agency, where I gained extensive experience across multiple areas of mental health. Although the work was demanding, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve individuals in various capacities and settings. That experience helped shape my clinical foundation and reinforced my commitment to this field. Along the way, I have learned to embrace my own neurodivergence and mental health experiences and use them as sources of insight, self-awareness, and strength. I am a mother of three children, and my experiences as a parent have deeply shaped my understanding of resilience, advocacy, and emotional complexity. My oldest child is also neurodivergent and lives with complex congenital heart disease, which has required multiple heart surgeries. These experiences, along with navigating remarriage and a second journey through IVF, have given me a profound appreciation for uncertainty, grief, hope, and perseverance. They have also strengthened my capacity to sit with others through difficult, vulnerable, and emotionally layered experiences. I share this to give you a sense of who I am and how I approach therapy, and to reflect the values of presence, compassion, and authenticity that guide my work with clients.

Hello! I am Wendy Theriot,MA,LPC. I spent years specializing in trauma-focused therapy and have worked in the private practice setting as well as treatment facility setting. This year I have taken a break from in-person therapy where I specialized in EMDR to more of a person-centered approach addressing men’s issues, as well as working mainly with with First Responders, Veterans, Active Duty personnel as well as couples. I guide the client in the direction of healing or self actualization incorporating Cognitive Processing , Jungian therapy and Attachment-Based therapy. “Jungian”refers to the psychological doctrines and analytical therapy developed by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. It helps to uncover hidden forces driving human behavior by integrating the conscious and unconscious mind, ultimately striving toward authenticity and personal wholeness. Attachment Based therapy is a form of counseling that explores how your early childhood relationships with primary caregivers shape your adult attachment style. In addition to individual therapy I have worked with couples using the Gottman Method. It is a structured, research-based approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It aims to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy and respect, and remove barriers. If you are seeing me through an EAP or have a limited amount of therapy sessions I also do Solution Focused Brief Therapy where we don’t look at the past as much as we look towards the future and what you want to envision. With my help you can get there.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for ten years now. You will always know yourself better than I can or will. From a philosophical and theoretical standpoint. I am overwhelming more of an attachment theorist, and have been known to use existentialism from time to time to help make sense of something. I guess the question that remains though is; can a butterfly flap it's wings in Brazil and cause a tornado in Kentucky, or are we all simply just products of our childhood and mirrors of our parents traumas? The duality of life. Attachment Theory vs. Chaos Theory. Both have value. I digress. My goal is to provide a petridish in which you can explore your self. Safe. Contained. Yet completely in your control. The paradox being, you likely already have what you need. I'll sit with you while you find it. I can give you my clinical opinion, or diagnosis, and recommendations along the way as well if you'd like that. I can just sit and listen. I can play devils advocate. My job is to listen, empower, observe, and provide feedback when requested.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or emotionally exhausted, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself. You may know you need support but feel unsure of what to say or where to begin. That’s okay. Therapy is a place where you can start exactly where you are. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgment. Healing doesn’t require perfection—it requires honesty, patience, and compassion. People and their stories have always deeply mattered to me. From an early age, I felt drawn to listening and understanding others, which naturally led me into this work. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. I strongly believe that progress is still progress, no matter how small, and every step forward deserves to be acknowledged. I am a Licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. Clients often describe me as empathetic, patient, and kind. I strive to meet you where you are and walk alongside you at a pace that feels right for you. You are the expert of your life—my role is to support, guide, and empower you. My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying unhelpful patterns, building coping skills, and creating meaningful change. Therapy is a collaborative process, and together we will work toward clarity, healing, and growth. As C.S. Lewis said, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” Your experiences are valid, your feelings matter, and your story deserves care. I would be honored to be part of your healing journey.l

Many of the individuals and couples I work with are at a crossroads—frustrated, sometimes burnt out, and seeking practical, workable strategies for change. Therapy offers a dedicated, supportive space to identify obstacles and map a path toward meaningful personal growth. With over 15 years of experience across healthcare, restorative justice, and outpatient settings, I provide telehealth therapy at Grow for adults and couples. My practice focuses on: *Chronic Pain & Complex Medical Issues *Anxiety & Phobias *Fertility & Family Building Support *LGBTQ+ & Gender-Affirming Care *Eating Disorder/Substance Use Step-Down Maintenance: Supporting ongoing recovery from substance use or eating disorders following higher levels of care. *Couples Therapy: Improving communication and relational dynamics (clinical outpatient focus only). Practice Boundaries & Administrative Policies To maintain a clear focus on clinical care, please review the following scope boundaries: *Legal & Forensic Services: I do not provide forensic evaluations, court-ordered treatment, litigation support, or expert witness testimony for legal proceedings, divorce, or custody disputes. *Disability & Administrative Paperwork: I do not perform disability evaluations or complete short/long-term disability claims; I do not write Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters. *Telehealth & Medical Requirements: Virtual therapy for chronic pain, ARFID, or medical distress serves strictly as a complementary psychological service. Because virtual care lacks physical monitoring: A. Clients with ARFID or eating disorders must maintain ongoing care with an in-person physician for routine medical safety. B. Clients seeking pain reprocessing or somatic therapy must have their pain evaluated by a physician. ******If medical or psychiatric needs exceed virtual outpatient scope, I will assist with referrals to local in-person providers**************

I’m Mariam Saibu, a somatic mental health therapist specializing in women’s mental health and the unique ways trauma, stress, and mood challenges show up in both mind and body. My goal is to create a supportive and empowering space where you can begin to heal, grow, and reconnect with yourself. I hold a Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and maintain specialized licenses in trauma, addiction, and vocational counseling. Over the years, I’ve worked in inpatient, outpatient, and state agency settings, providing care for children, adolescents, and adults. These experiences gave me the opportunity to treat a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, self-esteem struggles, substance use, and career transitions. I have also supported individuals on the autism spectrum in building social and behavioral skills to thrive in both employment and relationships. While I have worked with diverse populations, my passion lies in supporting women—particularly those navigating trauma, mood dysregulation, and life changes. I am licensed to practice in Georgia and Texas. I integrate my background in both biology and counseling to take a holistic approach to care. By weaving together somatic practices with evidence-based therapies, I help clients address how trauma and stress impact the body as well as the mind. In our work together, you can expect compassion, collaboration, and respect. My role is to walk alongside you, providing tools and insight to help you move forward while creating a safe environment for growth. Whether you’re seeking to manage trauma, improve mood and self-esteem, or find clarity in life’s transitions, I am here to support you in creating meaningful, lasting change.

Hi!, I'm Jacqueline, a Licensed Professional Counselor who truly gets the beautiful chaos of modern life because I'm living it right alongside you. After earning my psychology degree from Texas Tech in three years (because I thought sleep was optional back then!) and my master's in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology from UT Southwestern, I spent over a decade working at places like UT Arlington, Children's Medical Center, and UT Southwestern's Neuropsychology department. But my real education came when life happened – getting married and having multiple kiddos. Suddenly, I wasn't just understanding anxiety and overwhelm from textbooks. I was the one eating meals with one hand while bouncing a baby, wondering if I'd ever feel human again, and trying to balance professional responsibilities with the complete identity shift that comes with motherhood. Those experiences taught me what no graduate program could: what it really feels like to juggle everything while questioning if you're failing at it all. Now, after 20+ years of marriage and navigating the ongoing adventure of raising three kids, I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience to my work. I specialize in helping women navigate anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges using evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. But what sets me apart is that I apply these tools through the lens of someone who has walked the same path. Whether you're a young professional feeling overwhelmed, a new mom wondering where your identity went, or a working parent trying to find balance, I see you – because I've been you. My goal is simple: help you create a life you're thriving in, not just surviving. Because trust me, it's absolutely possible.

My name is Aleida Chavez, LCSW-S, LCCA, CART, and I am glad you are here. Taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and emotionally healthy life requires courage. Reaching out for support is not always easy, and I commend you for choosing to invest in yourself and your well-being. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor in Texas and Certified Anger Resolution Therapist with over 11 years of professional mental health experience and more than 20 years of combined experience in medical and mental health case management, training, and education. I have extensive experience helping individuals navigate depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, self-esteem concerns, addiction, anger management, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and other mental health challenges. My priority is creating a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported. I approach therapy with empathy, authenticity, cultural humility, and respect for the unique experiences each person brings into the therapeutic relationship. I believe you are the expert on your lived experience. My role is to provide clinical knowledge, support, perspective, and therapeutic tools that can help you better understand yourself and work toward meaningful change. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs, strengths, values, culture, experiences, and goals. Together, we can explore difficult emotions, identify patterns, strengthen coping skills, and work toward greater emotional well-being and personal growth. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your journey.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Texas. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Eating Disorders, is filtering therapists in Texas that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
