Hi, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) with over two decades of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counseling from the The University of Texas at San Antonio, and I have been practicing therapy since 2006. I am passionate about helping individuals who are struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and the everyday stressors that can leave us feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. I understand that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported without judgment. My approach to therapy is client-centered, meaning I meet each person where they are and tailor the therapeutic process to their unique needs and goals. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and together we work toward creating greater balance, self-awareness, and emotional well-being in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable for you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, supportive therapeutic relationship. During this session, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, the challenges you may be facing, and what you hope to gain from the process. There is no pressure to share everything at once, we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll also ask questions about your personal history, relationships, emotional well-being, and any current stressors so I can better understand your experiences and how to best support you. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions, share any concerns, and get a feel for what working together may look like. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and understood from the very beginning. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but you do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. We will work together to identify goals, build insight, and create a path forward that feels meaningful and manageable for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the things that makes my approach unique is my commitment to creating a therapy experience that feels supportive, personalized, and genuinely collaborative. I believe that every client’s story, needs, and goals are different, which is why I take a flexible approach to therapy rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model. I adapt my therapeutic style to meet you where you are, drawing from different evidence-based approaches to best support your growth and healing. Clients often describe me as warm, empathetic, and easy to talk to. I strive to create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself; whether you are processing difficult emotions, navigating uncertainty, or simply needing extra support through a challenging season of life. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I also offer virtual therapy sessions for clients anywhere in Texas, making therapy more accessible and convenient for busy schedules, life transitions, or those who simply feel more comfortable meeting from their own space. Telehealth allows you to access support wherever you are, while still building a meaningful and connected therapeutic relationship.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with women who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in their relationship with food, exercise, and their bodies. Many of my clients are exhausted by cycles of guilt, shame, restriction, overthinking, or self-criticism, and are looking for a more peaceful, compassionate way of relating to themselves. Together, we create space to better understand these patterns, rebuild trust with the body, and develop a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food, movement, and self-worth. I also support women who are navigating difficult life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, or periods of emotional overwhelm. Whether you are adjusting to a major change, coping with loss, struggling in relationships, or simply feeling stretched thin by the demands of everyday life, therapy can provide a supportive space to process your experiences and feel less alone. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, connected, and equipped to move through life with greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build a different relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT focuses on developing psychological flexibility. Learning how to make space for challenges while still moving toward what matters most to you. In our work together, we’ll explore your values, strengthen self-awareness, and practice practical tools that support meaningful, lasting change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, depression, or other challenges, and work to develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and responding. CBT is collaborative, practical, and goal-oriented, with a focus on building tools that clients can apply in everyday life to create meaningful and lasting change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their strengths, clarify their goals, and build on what is already working in their lives. This approach focuses less on analyzing problems and more on creating practical, achievable steps toward positive change. Together, we’ll work collaboratively to uncover solutions, increase confidence, and support progress in a way that feels manageable, empowering, and future-focused.
