New to Grow
Using education & experience as a foundation to work from, I'm confident in my ability to support clients needs. My counseling style is very holistic, empathetic, relaxed, lots of smiles & laughs. Im best fit for those seeking a therapist that's willing to keep client accountable for their choices & those ready to unlearn what’s no longer healthy or helpful.
First sessions are straight forward, more so focused on information gathering so no need to be anxious before we get into the heavy stuff. Although first session is to gather information and see how good of a fit we are, we can jump into the heavy stuff if thats what you'd prefer. You set the pace for your journey.
Being an eclectic therapist seems unorthodox to some clients in the moment, but are pleased with the outcome of treatment. I like to be creative and dont stay within the boxes of how things are typically done.
My approach best fits clients looking for a therapist that will hold them accountable for their choices, and for those ready to unlearn what’s no longer healthy or helpful. For adults, couples, first-responders and veterans experiencing: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, triggers/traumas, big life changes, relationship issues, and even those just wanting to find balance or a sense of support; I am here for you.
Eclectic
As an eclectic therapist, I use holistic knowledge from certifications and evidence based practices to ensure treatment is applicable to specific clients. This approach allows the tailoring of the counseling experience by mixing interventions.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with emotions, and accept that these feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations. Learning to work around or with a challenging situation to move forward in life rather than stagnating.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The way you think influences your behaviors. Shifting from a negative mindset can lead to a more pleasant day to day life.
Humanistic
Humanistic methods is more focused on you as the individual rather than how you function in social settings. Similar to a whole health model standpoint, looking at how you think/function individually from your own experiences as well as how you feel/function in social settings to find your center.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Sometimes being mindful is the simplest way to start positive changes. Figuring out what influences your negative thoughts/behaviors is the first step to finding out what's needed to better cope.
