I’m Chad Stiles, PhD, LMFT, and I work with adults who may look like they are managing life well on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, discouraged, or stuck on the inside. I help people navigate anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship stress, grief, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and patterns that no longer seem to be working for them. My style is collaborative, practical, and nonjudgmental. Therapy with me is not about being told what is wrong with you. It is about understanding yourself more clearly, recognizing the strengths you already have, and finding realistic ways to move toward the life you want.

Hi, I'm a therapist with over thirty years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families and historically getting positive results. I tend to work with families with special members such as teens and seniors. I have always worked with teens as it seemed to be a population others found difficult, but I liked the challenge. Now that I am a senior, I better understand the needs of our demographic. I tend to utilize a Family Systems approach which sees the individual in a family context as the majority has grown up in some form of family, whether related by blood or not. I've also taught Marriage and Family Therapy through what is now Drexel University's Family Therapy Program and have offered professional Supervision as a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. By working with the client in a collaborative, goal setting manner, faster more positive results seem to be achieved.

All behavior is purposeful. This means that we never do anything for no reason. Even when our behavior appears confusing or counterproductive to our values, our behavior has meaning and purpose. Therapy is a setting where we can gain insight about the origins of our perceptions, thinking and behavior. With clearer understanding, we are better equipped to identify factors within our control and consider alternative responses to our conditions. We gain awareness of the needs that are being met by potentially self-defeating thinking or behaviors and have a special opportunity to practice new thinking in the safety of therapy.

Hello, I'm Chris, I am a licensed psychologist and also hold a license as a professional counselor. If you've ever felt like you've been alone in society and that you are experiencing a sense of stress related to societal expectations that are unrealistic or built for those who are in a group you feel you don't belong to, I may be a good fit for you. I approach my work with clients in a way that is culturally informed, focusing on feminist principles that are aimed at removing barriers that are in place while acknowledging the very real struggles of those who are not members of the majority group. I have an extensive history of working with individuals of various minority group backgrounds, but specialize and focus in working with people who identify within the LGBTQ+ community, including offering affirming services and helping people navigate coming out, family and peer relationships, and romantic and sexual concerns. I also have experience and training in gender-affirming services and seek to help clients discover and celebrate their true selves. While I specialize in the above, I am here to help anyone who needs it. Coming to therapy is often a scary experience but it is one that can be incredibly rewarding. I strive to provide a warm, comforting, supportive environment for you to be yourself and grow through whatever concerns you are coming in with. I look forward to working with you!

I offer an individualized approach in counseling my clients. I am collaborative, eclectic, and pragmatic in my approach using a client-centered, strengths-based, solution-focused framework. I will use the therapeutic methods that work best for you. I have been honored to share many people’s lives and experiences in my more than 30 years working in this field and have continued to be reminded of our ability to be resilient and grow through difficult and overwhelming circumstances. One of the many things I’ve had the privilege to learn in doing this work is that when we accept our experiences and learn from them, we can obtain clarity and value from all experience. I have worked with clients and families with diverse origins on a variety of concerns and many have shared that they find me to be warm, supportive and easy to talk to. Some of the techniques I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Rational Emotive Therapy (RET). I specialize in anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, substance use, and family/relationship issues. It would be my honor to share my training and experience with you in hope that our collaboration will help you experience a richer fuller life.

I am Jeff, like it says on this page. I love games of all kinds and dogs of all kinds. I sit crosslegged on chairs when I can and enjoy kneading dough for baking. I'm verbose and use words as if they were legos. I have worked in hospitals, community mental health centers, a retirement home and now I am content to be in private practice. I have experience with crises, sudden life transitions and choices that seem impossible to come back from. I'm familiar with being awkward and have experience being the outcast. I became a therapist because there were many times earlier in my life where I needed support and guidance from someone who could understand me without being judgmental or controlling. Being a strange enough person already, I never quite found someone empathetic towards my situation until meeting my first therapist - a literally life changing experience. Even with almost 10 years as a therapist, I'm certainly not claiming that I'll change your life as a guarantee just because of who I am - a therapist helped me see that so much change came about by my own efforts over the years, change that you can also be empowered to pursue. I am the sort of person that will work in your interest, work for your health when it feels like illness gets in the way. If you happen to be someone or know someone that often puts others before themselves at the expense of wants and needs for themselves, then you may know me pretty well already. Transparently, I am not using AI in any form to write anything you read here about myself or my methods.

Hello! I appreciate that you’re taking this step toward finding a therapist you feel will be a good fit for you. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 13 years of experience. For most of this time I have worked with people around issues of depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and relationship/family issues. I am also passionate about working with LGBTQ folks around issues of coming out and self-acceptance. I know that the decision to look for a therapist isn’t always an easy one but, by doing so, you are taking an important first step toward creating change for yourself! I take a down-to-earth, supportive, conversational approach to therapy. I engage in discussion and don’t hesitate to share my own life experience when appropriate. I find that a more personal approach helps strengthen the relationship between me and the people I meet with which, in turn, will help you feel more comfortable being open in sessions. I take this approach because therapy is most successful when a person feels like their therapist understands them and when there is some level of connection. I focus on ensuring you will feel both seen and heard starting with our first session. You will be approached by me with curiosity, interest, and care at all times. At the start of your sessions with me I will ask how you’d like to start that day’s conversation and, if you’re not sure, will support you in discovering what might be important for you to talk about in the moment. I invite you to schedule a first session to see if I am a good fit for what you’re looking for in therapy!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Bradley Peters. I am a transplanted Canadian, who has been living in Pennsylvania since 2001, just before 9/11. I have been a therapeutic specialist in the field for over 17 years. Reaching out to a professional can be daunting, but once you do, having that support and learning tools to help change those painful feelings becomes invaluable. My practice is small, isolated and private. I serve adolescents and adults 14 and up. Currently, I am only seeing clients through telehealth, but I am hoping this does not dissuade you. Telehealth may sound impersonal, but in reality, it can be a very convenient, safe and secure way to communicate issues, and I have yet to have any difficulties establishing strong relationships through this medium.

Greetings, my name is John Luke. I am a licensed clinical social worker and specialize in helping people to effectively manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns using cognitive behavioral techniques. I have worked with a range of populations, nearly all ages, and also have experience with addiction treatment and life-coaching. I work with people to develop insight into the source of their problems, how their core beliefs about the world might be hindering their progress, and focus on their natural strengths to overcome those barriers with practical skills that generate sustainable change. Some of my other specialties include short-term, solution-focused therapy; cognitive behavioral therapy techniques; psychodynamic approaches; and marital counseling. Some of the problems I am particularly keen on solving with my clients include issues with self-image and confidence; dating and relationships; boundary-setting and assertive communication; as well as general anxiety management; and learning to identify and productively resolve emotional unrest. I am also very experienced in cognitive restructuring, which is just a fancy way of saying helping to change the way a person thinks about the world and their place in it. I also enjoy aiding people in goal setting and identification, meaning-making, and navigating family conflicts. If you feel any of this could be helpful or useful to you, please do not hesitate to reach out! (Note: I do work with couples, but only on a cash-pay basis. Also, I only work with ages 18+)

As a clinician, my objective with you is simple--to help you understand how to prioritize yourself without guilt. In my sessions we explore the root causes of your self-abandonment, self-sabotage, and self-betrayal. From that root, we identify the repeating patterns that have arrested your emotional investment in yourself, your wellness, and your needs. We use all of that information to disrupt the behaviors that you've learned to keep you hushed, compliant and overlooked. Being able to name your emotions, your needs, and your experiences--whether they be anxiety, depression, life transitions & adjustments, dating--all of them require understanding how to identify, express, confront and process your emotions. In my practice, we don't just talk about your emotions and trauma--we do something about them.

I believe in not just giving ok treatment, but the best available. That’s why I love matching your needs with the best type of therapy that’s also backed up with research to definitely be able to help you. With that, you’re still the expert on you and your life, so you bring your experiences and I’ll bring my knowledge, and together we can figure out how to help you figure out how to get exactly what you’re wanting in life. I specialize in working with anxieties, depression, trauma, as well as with teens and parents. I’ve worked with kids most of my life in one form or another doing therapy, mentoring, and teaching English abroad. Whatever is bothering you I’m here to help. LGBTQ friendly. Whatever it is, let me help you, and if there’s something I don’t have the proper expertise in then I also have no problem admitting that and directing you to someone who can help so that you don’t have to waste your time.

I’m a therapist who believes mental health care should feel approachable, supportive, and grounded in genuine human connection. My style is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I aim to create a space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and explore challenges without pressure or pretense. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you, but about helping you better understand yourself, your experiences, and your patterns. A balance of empathy and practicality shapes my clinical work. I integrate evidence-based techniques with authentic, real conversations. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, or life transitions, we work together to build insight, coping skills, and emotional resilience. In addition to my therapy work, I also work as an ICU nurse, which has deeply influenced my perspective on stress, trauma, and the complexity of being human. That experience allows me to bring a grounded, compassionate, and realistic understanding of life’s pressures into the therapy room. Outside of work, I value quiet, restorative time. I enjoy working out, staying active, and taking care of my own well-being. I love spending time at home with my husband and our pets, and I’m a big fan of unwinding with a good movie. I believe balance, connection, and moments of calm are essential — not just luxuries — and I often help clients explore how to build more of that into their own lives.

I started my career in human services at Northeast Treatment Centers in Philadelphia, PA where, over the course of 7 years, I worked as Youth Advocate for adjudicated adolescents, lead clinician for a community-based treatment team and outpatient therapist. After becoming a licensed psychotherapist in 2014, I worked as an outpatient therapist for multiple companies in the Philadelphia area where I helped clients manage or overcome symptoms related to anxiety, stress, trauma, depression and more. My therapeutic approach is strongly rooted in humanistic psychology. As described in an article from the Association for Humanistic Psychology, this approach offers a "crucial opportunity to lead our troubled culture back to its own healthy path. More than any other therapy, Humanistic-Existential therapy models democracy. It imposes ideologies of others upon the client less than other therapeutic practices. Freedom to choose is maximized. We validate our client's human potential."

I am a psychotherapist who works with a diverse population of people. My goal is to collaborate with individuals to assist them in achieving their therapy goal(S). My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I have a specialization in working with Veterans, LGBTQI, men, and people of color populations. However, I work with all people who are seeking mental health services. I am licensed in DC (LICSW), VA (LCSW), MD (LCSW-C), and PA (LCSW). I value evidence-based treatment! I know approaching mental health can often feel confusing, undefined, and can elicit questions like, "Where do I even begin?" I want to create a roadmap to feeling better. We'll define markers of progress and track your momentum over time. By creating clear indicators for success, we'll have a clear, grounded approach to treatment. Further, it is incredibly important to me that you feel safe and welcomed in-session. I know that treatment can be a very vulnerable process, so your comfort is of the utmost importance. We can move at whatever speed feels best to you. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to hear from you soon!

I tend to work best with people who want to understand themselves more deeply, including why they keep getting stuck in the same patterns even when they know those patterns are not working for them. I spent most of my career in community mental health, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and with a wide range of problems. My approach is relational and psychodynamic, so I’m interested in how your past experiences, relationships, and the world around you have shaped who you are today. I’m not a therapist who is going to give you a worksheet for every problem. I listen closely, ask a lot of questions, and will challenge you when I think it might be helpful. I take therapy seriously, but I’m not especially formal, and humor tends to find its way into the work.

Hi, I'm Cory Ian Shafer, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with my Masters in Counseling. I have been practicing professionally in the counseling field since 2005 and have worked in the mental health field since 1999. I approach therapy primarily as a Jungian-Existentialist, however, I also realize that many clients may need different approaches to achieve their success, and because of that I also incorporate an eclectic approach towards therapy in addition to my primary school of thought, therefore I can utilize many different modalities and approaches of therapy depending on the what you need in your sessions. My specializations are working with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and grief counseling. I also like to write a little bit and have published a few books concerning the human condition. On the personal side of things I lead a simple and quiet life, where I enjoy reading history, science fiction and philosophy books, playing the bass guitar, listening to music, traveling and amateur astronomy. www.coryianshaferlpc.com
