Therapy is about connecting with and formulating a safe relationship to explore and address your concerns through the therapeutic process; empowering you to achieve your goals of becoming happier and fulfilled in your relationships, life, and yourself. I want to assist you with achieving whatever solutions and/or life changes you are looking for in a safe and open environment. I use an eclectic approach working from multiple modalities that best fit the client's goals, needs, and experiences. I have experience working with young adults, and adults with varying diagnoses. I specialize in the treatment of anger, anxiety, depression, family conflict, relationship issues, self-esteem building, and stress management. As a therapist, my goal is to help to grow your personal strengths throughout the therapeutic process. In a non-judgmental environment, we will work together to build on your strengths and begin to understand the meaning of your distressing symptoms which will ultimately lead to growth and a positive transformation.
In our initial session, we will examine any questions or concerns you may have about counseling. Then, we will review and process the specific challenges that you are working through. This will assist us with developing and implementing a treatment plan that will help you reach your therapeutic goals.

I am best positioned to support people who feel weighed down by constant worry, self-criticism, or lingering sadness that seems hard to shake. Many of my clients describe feeling “stuck” in their thoughts, disconnected from joy, or exhausted from carrying the pressure of doing it all perfectly. If you’re someone who longs for relief from the racing mind of anxiety or the heavy fog of depression, I offer a space where you don’t have to hold it all alone. You may be seeking ways to quiet the inner noise, reconnect with your sense of worth, or build healthier patterns that bring you back into balance. My work is especially suited for those who are ready to explore their inner world with curiosity and compassion, even if it feels intimidating at first. Whether your goals include learning tools to manage stress, healing old wounds, or rediscovering meaning and motivation in daily life, I walk alongside you with warmth and respect. My goal is to support you in finding relief, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize a CBT approach that focuses on identifying and modifying unhelpful thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. My experience with CBT has been advantageous, as it provides clients with practical tools to manage a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and behavioral challenges. In my practice, I utilize CBT by first collaborating with clients to identify specific problems and the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors associated with them. We work together to recognize cognitive distortions, such as catastrophizing or black-and-white thinking, and then I guide clients in challenging and reframing these thoughts. Behavioral strategies, including exposure exercises, activity scheduling, and skills training, are integrated to support real-world changes. I also emphasize homework assignments and self-monitoring, which empower clients to practice skills outside of sessions and track their progress. Over time, many clients report improvements in emotional regulation, problem-solving abilities, and overall functioning. Ultimately, I use CBT as a structured, goal-oriented approach that not only addresses immediate concerns but also equips clients with lifelong skills for managing future challenges.

Joseph helped me identify the cognitive distortions that were affecting my self esteem by leaving me with feeling stuck/unmotivated/overwhelmed. He gave me resources to start doing the work in recovering and now I am on the road to rebuilding myself again.
