Hello, my name is Kevin. You have taken an important step by reaching out for help. Well done! I understand that life can be difficult and can present challenges that make living an authentic, joyful life difficult. Everyone faces these challenges. As your therapist, I will work with you to understand the challenges you face and to create a plan to move forward in your life's journey with joy and confidence. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 40 years of experience. I believe in a relationship-focused approach to therapy. I work with clients to build a safe space and to develop a supportive therapeutic relationship. Together, we identify the challenges you are facing. We work together to find creative and meaningful steps to address trauma and develop strategies to overcome them. I believe that everyone is capable of learning and achieving happiness and fulfillment. My job is to create a safe and accepting space to learn, heal and grow. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I understand that the first session may cause you anxiety. Be gentle with yourself. My job in the first session is to make you feel welcome and safe. In our first session we will become aquatinted, discuss what has brought you to therapy, review expectations and set preliminary goals. Our focus will be on beginning to build our therapeutic relationship, which is the foundation for our work together. It is an opportunity for you to express any concerns about therapy and ask me any questions you may have.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize a strengths-based model of therapy. My approach is client-centered, relationship-focused, non-judgemental and supportive. We work together to understand your strengths and challenges and to develop a plan to help overcome the challenges you are facing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strength is my ability to help clients develop trust and engage in a therapeutic relationship that will help them achieve their goals and live a more authentic and happy life. I am skilled in helping clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and I have a special commitment to working with members of the LGBTQ+ community to help process and resolve issues around coming out, gender identity, HIV, trauma and family dynamics.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Motivated, high functioning clients struggling with grief, loss, anxiety, depression, members of the LGBTQ+ community struggling with family issues, coming out, HIV, and intimacy issues.
