Joshua Sanchez
Hello and welcome to my page! I am Josh Sanchez, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 6 years in the field of mental and behavioral health. In the past 6 years, I have helped individuals and families find support and resources within the community. I have provided family, group, and individual therapy sessions through my work at The Horsham Clinic and a private practice. I have supported individuals as young as 6 within their mental health journey. Recently, I have created a grief group to provide a safe space where individuals can feel seen, heard and understood. My goal is to provide support, guidance and encouragement to all of my clients. Outside of work, you can catch me seeking out new adventures. I enjoy hiking, traveling, debating sports and especially watching my Philadelphia sports teams. I enjoy learning about and practicing spirituality. I enjoy providing astrology readings as well as tarot card readings.
I believe that experience is the best teacher, no matter how good or bad the experience is, it can be used as a learning experience to heal and grow.

First session
During the first session, you could expect questions on the different goals you would like to accomplish while in therapy. My goal is to create a safe environment where you feel free to share how you feel, work on healing and growing.
Strengths
My approach to therapy is to first always build a safe environment where individuals feel comfortable to be themselves. Building rapport with my clients helps build safety. I utilized CBT, DBT, Attachment Therapy and Trauma-Informed care within my sessions. With that, we will work through the challenges that bring you to therapy, accomplish goals and ultimately begin to heal.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to engage in treatment and work on all parts of themselves. A client who is honest about their experiences as well as one who is able to take accountability when it is needed. A client that is also open to collaborating with me as their clinician to get the most out of their treatment.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is used to raise our awareness about how our thoughts impact our feelings and emotions. To identify any core beliefs we have about ourselves, peers or what ever is bring us into therapy. After the thoughts are identified we will work together on thought diffusion and challenging those thoughts.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is all about emotional regulation and being able to to regulate oneself when in distress. First we wil identify the triggers that are stressed and practice DBT exercises to regulate our emotions.
Strength-Based
The goal with strength based is to identify the strengths of the client and to meet the client where they are at .
Attachment-based
With attachment we will go over attachment styles and how they impact our relationships and friendships on the day to day.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
With ACT we will go over radical acceptance and Identifying what the client can and can not control and create committed actions based on values.
