Are you feeling tired, overwhelmed, or stuck? Maybe you’ve been carrying too much for too long—showing up for others while quietly putting your own needs aside. Perhaps you find yourself saying yes when you really want to say no, or struggling to understand the love language of the people closest to you. Do you feel conflicted, pulled in many different directions, as though something inside you is being stretched too thin? Maybe part of you grieves what might have been, while another part worries about missing what is right here, today, in this present moment. Perhaps you’re navigating difficult relationships, caregiving responsibilities, or a season of life that feels heavier than you expected. You don’t have to go through this alone. I offer a gentle, supportive space where you can slow down, breathe, and simply be yourself. Together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing on you and reconnect with your strengths. With over 25 years of experience, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges such as trauma, emotional dysregulation, impulse control difficulties, chronic stress, self-harming behaviors, and adoption-related concerns. Today, my focus is helping adults build resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and experience meaningful growth. I earned my Ph.D. in Social Welfare from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation in Ohio. As a full-time lecturer at Case Western Reserve University, I remain closely connected to the latest research and evidence-based practices. I provide individual therapy, and I enjoy working with adults who feel ready to better understand themselves, shift old patterns, and move toward greater balance. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out—I would be honored to support you on your journey.

Hello, I’m Tomika, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a supervisory designation. I offer telehealth therapy services to individuals and families across all age groups, with flexible appointments including evenings and weekends. My areas of expertise include trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), both of which have proven effective for my clients. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support clients in creating meaningful change. Through ACT, I help clients reduce the struggle with difficult thoughts and emotions, normalize discomfort, build mindfulness skills, clarify values, and take action toward what matters most. With CBT, I assist clients in recognizing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while challenging unhelpful patterns and building healthier ones. Using DBT, I focus on helping clients regulate emotions, manage distress, and improve relationships through mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. In my work with couples, I emphasize effective communication, rebuilding trust, and understanding one another’s needs to determine whether and how to move forward in their relationship. My therapeutic approach centers on creating a safe, supportive environment where you can express your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I believe therapy is collaborative and focus on empowering clients to enact positive change, develop practical skills, and achieve personal growth. Each session is designed to leave you with tools to support your journey toward peace of mind, balance, and fulfillment. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or a life transition, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Thank you for stopping on my profile. I’m a simple person. As a therapist, I treasure every interaction. Most of my experience as a licensed counselor and working in mental and behavioral health has been working with children and adolescents - particularly those struggling to regulate emotions and manage behaviors. I believe the difference between working with young people versus people of any age is just stage of life. People develop over time but maturity -in itself- does not resolve impact from the ‘stuff’ they experience and carry throughout their lifetime. With that said, I don’t feel inclined to focus only on young people because at one point we were all young. In therapy, I’m a person who believes in the power of relationships. I tend to lean more heavily into the power of the connection than the style of treatment used. I’d be honored to meet you and get to know you but the bigger satisfaction in me would be knowing you found your fit. I wish you the best in your search.

Welcome — You Deserve to Feel Safe and Heard If you’re here, you might be feeling scared to reach out. Maybe you’re worried about being judged, or afraid you’ll end up with a therapist who only asks, “And how does that make you feel?” without truly helping. You may be: Feeling overwhelmed or like it’s hard to breathe. Carrying tightness in your chest from constant worry. Struggling with hopelessness and the sense that life is always against you. Hearing others dismiss your pain, telling you that you’re “overreacting.” Facing challenges in your relationship—whether it’s conflict, thoughts of divorce, or infidelity. Working through identity concerns (gender, body image, or self-worth). Feeling pressure to be perfect, or feeling angry, stuck, and stressed without healthy coping tools. If any of this resonates with you, I want you to know: you are not alone, and help is possible. Together, we can create a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to heal.

My style is honest, grounded, and deeply respectful of the human experience. My name is Amber. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of Ohio. My role is to empower you on this journey of self-actualization. I bring authenticity, warmth, and a solution-oriented approach. We will be working side by side to identify your goals, values, and strengths. From there, we will process past experiences to help you move on to becoming your best self. I have been helping clients achieve their goals for the past several years. These clients range from the age of one-year-old to over fifty-years-old. About 60% of my clients are 12 and under. In working with younger children, I have had the most success using telehealth when parents are present to monitor, arrange a predictable environment, and assist with any technical issues. In working with younger children, the parents’ role is vital. I work as a team with parents and caregivers to build a healthy relationship and find the appropriate strengths-based parenting strategies for the child. Recommended parenting techniques are largely based on the Conscious Discipline model which encourages mindful parenting. With younger children, the parents’ cooperation is imperative to reach desired behavioral goals. I also draw from the approaches outlined in Working with Challenging Youth by Brent Richardson, Ed.D.

Together we will walk your path to a deeper understanding of who you are and where you want to be. I believe our actions make sense even if we don't understand them. By looking into the roots of those unwanted actions we can learn to adjust our responses to lead more satisfying and peaceful life. We all have the answers inside us and we have the ability to succeed. Change is hard, but when it’s needed, you feel it. Marital strain, career dissatisfaction, or lingering pain from the past can leave you feeling stuck, even when you know something has to shift. Taking those first steps toward change can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. Therapy offers a safe, supportive space to gain clarity, process emotions, and reconnect with your sense of purpose. Healing becomes possible when you have an empathetic and attuned witness to your story; someone who helps you uncover insight, strengthen emotional regulation, and find new ways forward. I’ve worked in a variety of settings as a counselor, educator, and clinical supervisor, and I’m passionate about helping people create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. My approach is collaborative, emotioanlly-focused, practical, and rooted in respect for each person’s unique journey. If you’re ready to do the inner work; to feel more grounded, balanced, connected, and fulfilled- therapy can help you get there. Prioritize yourself. This is your moment for growth.
