New to Grow
I am an open, genuine, and compassionate therapist who believes in being honest and direct while meeting each client with empathy and understanding. I am a “straight shooter” who will challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone and strive toward becoming the best version of yourself. At the same time, I recognize that everyone’s journey is unique, and I believe therapy should be tailored to meet you where you are. I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions and approaches based on your individual needs, personality, goals, and life experiences. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can be authentic, gain insight, develop healthy coping skills, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
As a licensed therapist in Ohio with over three decades of experience, I specialize in supporting individuals through life's complex emotional landscapes. My practice centers on helping clients navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship dynamics, and trauma recovery. I bring a compassionate and holistic approach to therapy, with deep expertise in women's issues, workplace challenges, and supporting individuals through significant life transitions. My work is particularly focused on helping clients develop self-love, improve communication, and find meaningful pathways through grief, shame, and personal growth. Drawing from extensive clinical experience, I create a supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences, heal from past wounds, and develop resilient strategies for emotional well-being. Whether you're struggling with midlife transitions, workplace stress, or personal healing, I'm committed to walking alongside you with empathy and professional guidance. My approach honors each individual's unique journey, recognizing the strength and potential within every person seeking support. I aim to provide a compassionate, affirming space where you can explore your challenges and discover your inner resources for healing and transformation.
I bring a lifelong commitment to serving and connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, life circumstances, and experiences. My personal and professional experiences have provided me with opportunities to work with individuals from a wide range of communities and have strengthened my ability to approach each person with empathy, understanding, and without judgment. I have worked extensively with returning citizens; individuals impacted by domestic violence, both survivors and perpetrators; and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse, childhood neglect, and other forms of trauma. I also have significant experience supporting individuals through various forms of grief and loss, as well as those experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and maternal depression. These experiences have shaped my clinical perspective and allow me to bring compassion, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of the complexities that influence an individual’s mental health and overall well-being.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to be honest with themselves, explore what may be holding them back, and take steps toward meaningful change. I enjoy working with individuals who are navigating life transitions, trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, or other experiences that may be affecting their emotional well-being. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult season or simply want to better understand yourself and grow, I am here to meet you where you are. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I value working with clients who are open to being challenged, encouraged, and supported as they strive to become the best version of themselves.
I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while learning that they do not have to be controlled by difficult experiences. I help clients identify what truly matters to them and clarify their personal values, then work with them to take meaningful steps toward living in alignment with those values. ACT can help clients learn to accept uncomfortable emotions rather than avoiding them, develop healthier ways of responding to difficult thoughts, and build psychological flexibility. My approach is compassionate but direct, and I encourage clients to move beyond simply identifying their challenges toward making intentional changes that support the life they want to create.
I utilize Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) to support young children and their caregivers in building stronger, healthier relationships. Through therapy, I help caregivers better understand their child’s emotions, behaviors, and needs while creating opportunities for safety, trust, connection, and emotional regulation. I work collaboratively with caregivers to explore how trauma, stress, and past experiences may affect the parent-child relationship and the child’s emotional well-being. My goal is to help both the child and caregiver develop a stronger sense of security, improve communication, and build a healthy foundation for emotional growth and healing.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns of thinking that may be contributing to emotional distress or making it difficult to move forward. I work with clients to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and practice coping strategies that can be applied in everyday life. CBT is a collaborative and goal-oriented approach that allows clients to build practical skills, increase self-awareness, and feel more confident in managing life’s challenges. I meet clients where they are while encouraging them to take an active role in their healing and personal growth.
I utilize couples counseling to help partners strengthen their relationship, improve communication, and develop a deeper understanding of one another. I provide a safe and supportive environment where each partner can express their thoughts, feelings, and concerns while learning to listen and communicate more effectively. Together, we explore relationship patterns, identify areas of conflict, and develop healthier ways to resolve disagreements. I also help couples build trust, strengthen emotional connection, establish healthy boundaries, and work through challenges that may be affecting their relationship. My approach is compassionate but direct, encouraging both partners to take responsibility for their part in the relationship and work together toward meaningful and lasting change.
I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy, which allows me to draw from different therapeutic approaches and interventions based on each client’s individual needs, personality, goals, and life experiences. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I tailor treatment to meet each client where they are. Depending on the client and their concerns, I may incorporate techniques from CBT, ACT, trauma-informed approaches, and other evidence-based interventions. My goal is to provide therapy that is flexible, practical, and meaningful while helping clients gain insight, develop effective coping skills, and make positive changes in their lives.
