I blend different therapies, practice experience, life experience, compassion, and a deep desire to understand your story to meet you right where your are. Together we will walk your path to a deeper understanding of who you are and where you want to be. I believe our actions make sense even if we don't understand them. By looking into the roots of those unwanted actions we can learn to adjust our responses to lead more satisfying and peaceful life. We all have the answers inside us and we have the ability to succeed. Sometimes an impartial witness can help us sort through the confusion and provide the non- judgemental sounding board to make sense of it all. That's where I see my roll, to provide you with the space and skills to make sense of the things that don't make sense.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
At our first session we will talk about what you hope to achieve through counseling, what I can do and the basic ground rules of what counseling is and is not. After that we will lay the foundation of getting to know each other and me starting to understand your story. It's about creating a relationship you can depend on and trust. Nothing you say or don't say will change that goal. We will go at your pace, waiting for you to decide when you can feel safe and trust me and the whole process which is exactly what it is, a process.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Patience, calmness and non-judgemental stance are my strengths. Emotions and trauma do not scare me and I desire to be that solid place for you to stand when the ground underneath you seems to be shifting. I come from a Christian perspective but understand my faith does not shape yours. It is a strength of mine to believe you were created to be who you are and that you were given the ability to succeed. This is my second career so I have seen life from many different angles. I have lived through many difficult situations which have added to my ability to understand some of the pain you may be going through. I made it my personal goal to learn ways to use that experience to understand and help others. This was not to create a career but a mission and my heart. I try to let you see and feel that at every session. I'm truly rooting for your success and want to help you along the way for as long as you need me.

I want to take the time to really understand who you are. I work hard to create a safe space where you can can explore the uncomfortable places with someone who is willing to sit with those uncomfortable feelings and work on first understanding yourself and finding solutions to change course of your journey. There are only 3 ways to answer any situation, stay in the situation and do nothing, stay in the situation and change something or get out of the situation. My job is to help you examine these options to see which works best for you and how to maneuver through that choice. I can't tell you what solution is best but I can help you stay focused on what it is you want for you.
