Chanece Currie-Lawrence
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over five years of experience as a therapist across community mental health, residential treatment, and private practice. For the past three years, I’ve provided therapy through telehealth, supporting adults and adolescents with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, and life transitions. I have advanced trauma training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I bring a warm, collaborative, and practical approach to therapy, combining clinical experience with lived experiences and understanding. My goal is to help you feel heard while also giving you the insight, tools, and support to create meaningful and lasting change.
First session
We’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been carrying, and what you hope will change. I’ll answer your questions, discuss your goals, and begin creating a plan that fits your needs. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and a little less alone.
Strengths
I am intentional on being genuine, relatable, and easy to talk to. Therapy with me isn't about sitting across from someone waiting to hear, “So, how does that make you feel?” I want you to feel comfortable enough to show up as yourself, laugh when it fits, be honest when things are hard, and talk about what’s really going on. Clients have described me as supportive, calm, and easy to connect with. I’ll meet you where you are while also gently challenging you when something needs to be addressed.
Ideal clients
If you’re used to being the strong, dependable one, you may be tired of always holding everything together while quietly feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or disconnected from yourself. You may be navigating a life transition, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, or a major change and want support making sense of it all. If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply, build confidence, and create meaningful change, I’m here to help.
Treatment methods
Eclectic
My approach is practical, personalized, and focused on what you need. I use CBT as a foundation, while incorporating solution-focused and trauma-informed approaches based on your goals and experiences. I’m a problem-solver, so our work will focus on understanding what’s keeping you stuck, building practical skills, and creating meaningful change you can carry into everyday life.
