LISW, 1 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello, my name is Renee Taylor a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio with a strong foundation in clinical social work and years of experience in both community and private practice settings. In addition to clinical work, I stay actively involved in community advocacy, program development, and mentorship of new social workers. I believe in the importance of holistic, culturally responsive care and dedicated to promoting social justice and equity in all areas of practice.
During our first session, I like to focus on building rapport and getting to know each other. This time is also meant to give you space to “get things off your chest” so we can find a good starting point together. I also welcome any questions you may have, as this helps us establish a clear therapeutic path for your treatment and future sessions.
What stands out about my approach is my commitment and passion for creating a safe, supportive space where clients can feel comfortable in therapy. I want clients to feel a sense of control in our sessions, knowing that their voice and choices guide the direction of our work together.
I am committed to creating a safe, supportive space for clients to navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and foster personal growth. I specialize in trauma, crisis intervention, caregiver burnout, adjustment to acute and chronic illness, anxiety, depression, goal setting and spiritual navigation. In my practice I use an integrative approach, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Symptom Targeted Therapy and Strengths-Based Therapy, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
I used a strength-based approach by focusing on your existing skills, values, and personal strengths to help guide your growth. Instead of only looking at challenges, we identify the positive qualities you already have and build on them to create solutions and strategies that work for you.
I use compassion-focused care by creating a safe and supportive space where you can share openly without judgment. Together, we work on building self-kindness and understanding, especially during difficult moments.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Treatment by helping you identify your goals and focusing on practical steps to move toward them. Instead of spending a lot of time on what isn’t working, we highlight your past successes and strengths so you can build on them.
use Motivational Interviewing by listening closely to your thoughts and feelings about change and helping you explore your own reasons for wanting to move forward. Instead of pushing you, I ask open questions and reflect on what you share so that you feel more confident in making choices that fit your goals and values.
use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by helping you notice the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we look at unhelpful thought patterns and practice new ways of thinking and coping that can lead to more positive emotions and healthier actions.
