Hello, my name is Patricia and I have been a mental health counselor since 2013. I have had the privilege of working in several different agencies including traditional outpatient and telehealth settings and with a range of individuals and families. My journey started at Baldwin Wallace University where I received a bachelor’s of science in psychology and then my master’s in mental health counseling at Kent State University. I have provided therapy to college students at a university counseling center, adults and seniors at The Free Clinic in Cleveland (now Circle Health), primarily children at Beechbrook, and most recently I worked at The Centers for Families and Children with clients ranging from age 5 to adults and seniors. I have worked with clients with problems from situational life stress and changes, to mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, Personality disorders, and relationship issues.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Sessions are typically weekly or twice per month. In the beginning my main goal is to get to know you, your reasons for coming to therapy and problems, of course, but also your strengths, interests and everyday life and relationships that you have. It is from these things that coping skills and growth happens so that you can be the strongest, most successful you that you can be. Sessions are tailored to you and your needs so that we can work together toward your goals and what you want out of therapy.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
My therapy approach is eclectic as I pull from narrative therapy, Gestalt, CBT, psychoanalytic, person-centered, rational emotive, and mindfulness.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Populations and issues which I have most experience and success with include young adults, adults, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, adapting to life's changes, and trauma.
