Hello! I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and transitioned to private practice in February of 2020. Throughout my career, I worked closely with the Lucas County Juvenile Court and other community mental health agencies, assessing, diagnosing and treating a variety of emotional and behavioral issues. I have been privileged to have worked with adults, adolescents and children as they have navigated through various traumas and other life challenges. My therapeutic focus is based on assisting my clients by finding and maintaining a healthy Mind/Body/Spirit healing and balance. This involves using appropriate therapeutic interventions based on diagnosis to stabilize symptoms and use of coping strategies and self-care to maintain and thrive!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During my first session with a client, I want to ensure a safe environment that will allow for us to get to know each other as we discuss current life events and challenges preventing a peace and calm in mind and heart. If client is comfortable working with me, we will then discuss and identify a couple of treatment goals to begin to stabilize identified stressors and symptoms.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapeutic focus is based on assisting my clients by finding and maintaining a healthy Mind/Body/Spirit healing and balance. This involves using appropriate therapeutic interventions based on diagnosis to stabilize symptoms and use of coping strategies and self-care to maintain and thrive! I am diligent in maintaining my own Mind/Body/Spirit balance through faith and a deep connection with nature. My self-care also includes Lego and mindfulness in nature through kayaking, hiking, camping and biking.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My clinical experience includes Individual, Family, and Group Counseling, Mental Health and Addictions Counseling, Grief Counseling, Mindfulness, Psychosocial Interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Trauma with a focus on TF-CBT and CPT, and I have been certified in several evidenced based therapeutic models including: Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Multisystemic Therapy (MST), and Seven Challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Better management of symptoms related to trauma and other stress related disorders and to achieve a better quality of life through a healthy mind/body/spirit balance.

Peg comes from a place of knowing. She totally relates to having ADHD and the struggles that come along with ADHD. She suggests doable homework that will help me build confidence as well as consistency like making a written plan to accomplish various tasks. I know how to do these things but it is helpful to have support and reinforcement.

I just adore Peg. She is a light in the dark and a warm embrace for the heart. Peg inspires me to be the best version of myself and I never leave a session without a smile on my face. She actually listens and asks the questions to help you find yourself. 10/10 Always

I just had my first session with Peg, and I was so nervous before it started. But once we started talking, it was so easy to open up and go through everything I needed to get out. I am looking forward to our next session!
