Hi! I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker based in Ohio. I received my Masters from The Ohio State University and I have been practicing for 11 years. I believe my purpose is to walk with people as they work through past traumas, depression, and anxiety. I also work with adults struggling with life and career obstacles due to the challenging symptoms of ADHD.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In my first session I ask questions about what led you to seek support but I also ask questions that help me get to know how you envision your most authentic and thriving self. I work from a holistic approach so I will ask questions to get information about health and well being in many domains including: physical, mental, financial, spiritual, social, and sexual health. I also give people space to set their own boundaries so if a topic or question is currently off limits I respect that.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a Person of Color and I love being able to add a culturally responsive perspective to the work that I do for people in our community. I have years of experience working with people from a lot of different backgrounds, cultures, and faiths and the overwhelming majority of my clients reported a positive outcome of therapy and their experience working with me. Lastly, I am completely committed to the belief that people can change and at this point in my career it is not just a statement of naive faith.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is perhaps the treatment modality I draw on the most in practice. It is such a highly effective treatment method due to its emphasis on kindness, empathy, and understanding. By working together to foster self-compassion and acceptance my clients cultivate a positive relationship with themselves, leading to improved mental well-being and emotional resilience. CFT promotes healing by addressing deep-rooted emotional wounds, reducing self-criticism, and enhancing self-esteem. Through compassionate self-reflection and mindfulness practices, clients learn to manage stress, regulate emotions, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

EMDR

As an EMDR certified therapist I often use this treatment method to help clients address core beliefs that negatively impact them due to traumatic experiences. EMDR is effective for trauma by reprocessing distressing memories, reducing symptoms, and fostering healing. Its rapid results make it a valuable therapeutic tool.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an integral part of my therapeutic approach. Helping clients understand their own thoughts and emotions and working together to create more functional and strengths based behaviors while also validating their current emotions is truly rewarding. CBT allows people to know themselves better, and make changes they truly want to see.
