Many come to therapy for social anxiety because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. My educational experience includes a Bachelors in Psychology from University of Central Florida, a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Graduate certificate in Psychology with a specialization in Play Therapy both from Capella University, and over 225 hours of specialized Play Therapy instruction. I specialize in treating trauma using EMDR and in Adlerian Play Therapy.
