New to Grow
I'm Porsha Coates, LMHC, and I work with people who are ready to make real changes — not just cope, but actually move forward. My clients include adults, adolescents, couples, veterans, and military families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I bring together CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and clinical hypnotherapy — not as a rigid formula, but as a flexible toolkit I adapt to what you actually need. I offer telehealth therapy across Florida, so getting support is straightforward, wherever you are.
The first session is a real conversation — not an intake form in disguise. I'll ask about what's been on your mind, what you want your life to look like, and what's gotten in the way so far. You set the pace. By the end, you'll have a clear picture of what we'll work on together, and you'll feel like you've already started — not just talked about starting. Most clients leave that first session feeling heard and a little lighter. That's exactly the goal.
Therapy with me is a genuine collaboration. We'll dig into what's actually driving the patterns you want to change and build strategies that fit your real life — not a textbook version of it. I integrate evidence-based methods with authentic curiosity about who you are. Whether we're using CBT to reshape thought patterns, hypnotherapy to create deeper shifts, or motivational interviewing to get you unstuck, the approach flexes to meet you where you are. I care less about fitting you into a treatment box and more about building something that works.
My clients are often navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, or unwanted habits that are impacting their daily lives. They are seeking a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they can gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies, improve communication, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we work to increase self-awareness, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and achieve personal, emotional, and professional goals.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and build practical coping skills that support lasting emotional and behavioral change.
I use clinical hypnotherapy as a collaborative tool to help clients access their subconscious patterns, strengthen motivation, reduce unwanted behaviors, and reinforce positive change. It is integrated with evidence-based therapy to support each client's unique goals and treatment plan.
I use mindfulness-based therapy to help clients increase present-moment awareness, manage stress, regulate emotions, and respond to challenges with greater clarity and intention rather than reacting automatically.
I use Person-Centered Therapy to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we build on each client's strengths, values, and goals to foster meaningful growth and lasting change.
I use psychoeducation to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and mental health conditions. By increasing knowledge and awareness, clients are better equipped to make informed decisions, develop effective coping skills, and actively participate in their treatment.
