Thank you for taking time to learn a little about me. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Addictions Professional with over 25 years of counseling experience in clinical, private and educational settings. I practice Client-centered therapy. For those who are unfamiliar with Client-centered therapy it is based on the practice that the CLIENT is best able to decide what to explore and mark as a goal of treatment. I empower all my clients without compromising empathy. Whatever the reason any individual, couple, or family comes to me, I challenge their skillset to solve problems and restore resolve; not simply provide short-term solutions. The first step to achieve this is to build a rapport with essential empathy and unconditional positive regard. I believe in relationships. Seems a little elementary but one's physical, mental, and overall wellness is dependent on relations that we have with each other. No matter how large or small one's family is, and/or social circle we were all meant to establish and grow relationships. No level of true self-reflection would escape this fact. I witnessed this to be true in all of my clients as with myself. I currently reside Central Florida with my wife, son, and three daughters. As a family we enjoy an active lifestyle supportive of one another and the family dynamic. I welcome the opportunity to work with you, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

A lot of general questions terms of history and desired outcome of counseling. More importantly a welcoming environment where rapport can be easily established and further strengthened.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strength as a therapist is being able to support the wants and needs of the client. I may have a way of solving certain things for myself but every client is different. Recognizing that each client has different skill sets based on personality and their life experiences is vital. I think never of "what would I do" rather how can this particular individual get what they want.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

One that truly believes true change and improvement is not done in 2-3 sessions. A client that welcomes the opportunity to enjoy the process. Therapy in not a "no pain, no gain" means to an end. It remains most fulfilling to those who trust the process.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

For over two decades I have practiced Person-centered therapy. Many critics of Person-Centered feel having unconditional positive regard for the client does not allow room for the therapist to challenge client's thoughts and behaviors. This is simply not true. I embrace the autonomy of client's thought process while looking for ways to collaborate a treatment plan that improves resolve and reaches THEIR desired outcome.
