New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges with resilience and hope. I specialize in working with children, teens, and young adults facing anxiety, depression, stress, or major transitions. Beyond my clinical work, I host conversations and speak on topics where mental health intersects with everyday life, relationships, and faith creating safe spaces for people to feel understood and inspired. My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative. I believe healing comes from being fully seen, supported, and equipped with tools that make lasting change possible.
In our first session, you can expect a calm, supportive space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. We’ll take time to talk about what has been weighing on you, whether that’s depression, anxiety, parenting stress, or life changes, and begin exploring your goals for therapy. I’ll ask questions to understand your story, but we’ll move at a pace that feels safe. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of what therapy with me looks like and the assurance that you don’t have to carry these struggles alone. For clients who desire it, I also welcome conversations about how your faith and values can be a source of strength in your healing journey.
My strengths as a therapist lie in blending evidence-based approaches with compassion and a faith-informed perspective, when desired. With experience across schools, private practice, and community programs, I understand the unique challenges faced by individuals and families. I draw on CBT, trauma-informed practices, and strengths-based techniques to help clients process emotions, break free from unhelpful patterns, and build resilience. What sets me apart is my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel both understood and empowered. I value the integration of science and spirituality and believe both can work together to support healing and wholeness.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by depression, anxiety, life transitions, or the stress of balancing many roles, you don’t have to carry it alone. If you are a parent concerned about your child’s mood, anxiety, or emotional regulation, I provide support for both you and your family. Many of my clients come to me feeling exhausted, uncertain, or weighed down by expectations but also open to healing. In our work together, I create a safe, supportive space that honors both evidence-based practices and, when desired, the role of faith and values in your journey. Together, we’ll work toward resilience, balance, and peace that lasts.
My foundation in Christian counseling allows me to bring a faith-based perspective into the therapeutic process when appropriate and desired by the client. I use Scripture, prayer, and spiritual reflection as tools for healing, often helping clients explore how their beliefs shape their identity, coping, and relationships. This integration supports clients who want their mental health journey to align with their spiritual growth.
I frequently use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and problematic behaviors. In sessions, I teach clients practical skills such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and relaxation techniques. For example, with adolescents experiencing anxiety, I often use thought records and coping skill worksheets to make the process concrete and collaborative.
I also incorporate IFS, which helps clients recognize and relate to the different “parts” of themselves with compassion rather than judgment. This approach is especially powerful for clients with trauma histories, as it allows them to externalize inner conflicts and build a sense of self-leadership. I guide clients in identifying protective and wounded parts, and we work toward healing by fostering safety, curiosity, and acceptance within the internal system.
With clients who have experienced trauma, I often rely on TF-CBT, which combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with a structured, trauma-sensitive approach. I guide clients through the PRACTICE model: psychoeducation, relaxation, affect regulation, cognitive coping, trauma narration, in vivo exposure, conjoint sessions, and enhancing safety. I tailor this process to each developmental stage, making space for caregivers when appropriate, and integrating creative tools (like journaling, art, or storytelling) to help clients process their trauma in a safe and structured way.
I also draw on DBT, particularly its emphasis on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills are valuable for clients struggling with intense emotions, impulsivity, or relationship difficulties. I often blend DBT’s practical, skills-based framework with the reflective aspects of CBT and IFS to give clients tools they can use in daily life.
