New to Grow
Hi, I’m Ashelea, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should be a space where you can show up as your full, authentic self—without fear of judgment. I work with individuals ( children, teens, young adults, adults and older adults), couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and those seasons when you simply feel stuck or overwhelmed. My approach is warm, honest, collaborative, and culturally responsive. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop practical tools to move forward. I’m compassionate when you need support and willing to gently challenge you when growth requires it. Whether you’re trying to heal from something that happened years ago, navigate something happening right now, or simply become more intentional about the life you want, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. We’ll work together, one step at a time.
Your first session is about getting comfortable, telling your story, and helping me understand what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’re experiencing, what you hope will change, and what you need from therapy. You don’t have to have everything figured out before we meet. We’ll work together to identify goals and create a plan that feels realistic and meaningful for you. Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the work ahead.
I bring warmth, authenticity, clinical knowledge, and a genuine ability to meet people where they are. I’m not afraid to gently challenge you when it can help you grow, but I also know when you simply need someone to listen and hold space. I believe therapy should be collaborative—not something being “done” to you. I use evidence-based approaches while keeping sessions practical, relatable, and connected to your real life. My goal is to help you understand yourself, recognize your strengths, navigate difficult moments, and build a life that feels more aligned with who you are.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, break unhealthy patterns, and create meaningful change in their life. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, major life transitions, family stress, or simply feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what comes next. I work well with clients who want a therapist who will genuinely listen and create a safe, nonjudgmental space, while also being willing to offer honest feedback and gentle challenges when needed. You don’t have to come to therapy with everything figured out or even know exactly what you need. You just need to be willing to explore, reflect, and take things one step at a time. Whether your goal is healing from the past, improving your relationships, building confidence, managing difficult emotions, or becoming more intentional about the life you want, I’m here to help you turn insight into action.

I have experience using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) across outpatient and trauma-informed settings. In my practice, I use DBT to help clients develop skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. I apply DBT in a collaborative and practical way, often integrating it with other evidence-based approaches to meet each client’s individual needs and support real-world skill application.
I have experience using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) in outpatient and trauma-informed settings. In my practice, I use SFBT to help clients identify strengths, clarify goals, and build on what is already working in their lives. I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, using targeted questions and goal-focused interventions to support meaningful change while honoring each client’s pace and lived experience.
I use a trauma-informed approach throughout my practice, grounded in safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment. I recognize the impact of trauma on emotional regulation, behavior, and relationships, and I tailor treatment to each client’s unique experiences and strengths. My work emphasizes creating a supportive therapeutic environment while integrating evidence-based interventions that promote healing, resilience, and long-term stability.
I have experience using Motivational Interviewing across a range of clinical settings. In my practice, I use Motivational Interviewing to support clients in exploring ambivalence, strengthening intrinsic motivation, and increasing readiness for change. I take a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach that honors client autonomy while guiding meaningful, self-directed behavior change.
I incorporate Compassion-Focused Therapy to help clients develop self-compassion, reduce shame, and build emotional safety. In my practice, I use compassion-based interventions to support clients in understanding their inner experiences with warmth rather than self-criticism. This approach is especially helpful in fostering resilience, emotional regulation, and a more balanced relationship with self and others.
