I am originally from New York but have lived in Florida the majority of my life. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree from University of Central Florida. My 24 years of human services and social work experience includes working with grief and loss, terminal illness, children and their families, case management and mental health counseling. She has published two books, one on relationships and another on managing depression. She has written a couples interactive co-journal and has published multiple articles on relationships, depression, improving well-being, thriving during and after a serious health issue and reducing acute stress response. She has a YouTube Channel, “Therapy with Karen Collins” where she posts peaceful places, guided meditations, provoking ideas to consider and a segment on managing acute stress response and improving overall well-being to teach how to prevent over-responding to stressors.
