I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has over 14 years of experience working with adolescents and adults seeking help with traumatic experiences(childhood trauma, abuse, neglect,or any intense event or situation that caused emotional distress), occupational stress, life transitioning, daily stressors, anxiety, depression, relationships, grief and loss, self-esteem,sleep disturbance, anger management, and more. I provide a warm, empathetic, nonjudgmental and safe environment where my clients can be open and their authentic self. I do not use a cookie-cutter approach for treating clients as each session is tailored to meet the needs of the client. I have successfully assisted clients with gaining insight, finding inner strength, and developing strategies necessary to make a change in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is the beginning of the rapport building process. It more like a meet and greet. I share a little about myself and my therapy style. You will have the opportunity to share about yourself and discuss your specific challenges in a welcoming environment. I will ask questions throughout the sessions to gather information. At the end of the session, we will discuss working together and the next steps of your journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are my honesty, empathy, transparency, strong therapeutic rapport

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I like working with clients who show up to therapy ready to put in the work during sessions and are committed to continuing the work outside of sessions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps clients understand the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in five keys ways. 1. Teaches clients to recognize distorted or irrational thoughts and replace them with more balance realistic perspectives. This is particularly effective for depression, where negative self-talk reinforces low moods and anxiety where irrational fears can lead to avoidance and distress. 2. Modifying Maladaptive behaviors such as avoidance behaviors for anxiety or inactivity/withdrawing for depression. 3. Teaching copings strategies and tools to manage distress such as relaxation techniques for anxiety, problem-solving skills, and mindfulness strategies to reduce rumination in depression and PTSD. 4. Reframe negative core beliefs over time, leading to long-term improvements. 5. Structured and goal-directed approach in which clients actively engage in homework to practice skills outside of sessions.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy works because it shifts the focus from deficits and problems to a person's strengths, abilities, and resources. Depression it encourages clients to identify personal strengths and past achievements, counteracting feeling of hopelessness through strength exploration techniques. Anxiety builds confidence by recognizing past successes in managing uncertainty and stress through reframing problems techniques. Stress management using solution-focused dialogue. Trauma recovery by identifying inner strengths and external supports to promote healing.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT works because it helps clients process trauma in a way that allows them to move forward, reducing PTSD symptoms and restoring a sense of control and safety through five keys ways. 1. Addressing stuck points including rigid, negative beliefs about themselves, others, or the world. CPT helps identify and challenge these beliefs to develop more balanced and realistic perspectives. 2. Teaching cognitive restructuring to address thoughts of shame, guilt, and blame. 3. Breaking the trauma avoidance cycle by encouraging confronting an working through memories in a safe structured way. 4. Enhances emotional regulation by helping client gain control over their emotions by changing how they interpret situations. 5. Improve daily functioning by helping clients reconnect with their daily lives and relationships.
