Hi, I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with 11 years of experience. I have a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of South Florida and I received my master’s degree from Webster University in counseling. With my work in the hospital I have extensive experience helping people struggling with anxiety, relationship issues, and life challenges become the best version of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will begin with brief introductions and review your intake form, which includes the reasons you are seeking therapy. This initial meeting is an opportunity to discuss the challenges you’re currently facing and how they may be impacting various areas of your life, such as relationships, self-esteem, or navigating life changes. Our goal will be to create a safe and supportive space where you can share as much as you feel comfortable. Together, we will begin to identify realistic and meaningful goals to guide our work in future sessions. To support your progress, I may provide worksheets or activities for you to reflect on and engage with between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a safe and supportive space for clients by listening attentively, demonstrating empathy, and validating their concerns. My professional experience working in a hospital setting, including both inpatient care and the emergency department, has given me a unique perspective on addressing acute emotional and mental health challenges. What makes me unique is my commitment to truly understanding each client’s experiences and tailoring my approach to meet their specific needs, helping them feel heard, valued, and supported in their journey toward healing and growth.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve individuals who are dealing with anxiety, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions. My clients often feel overwhelmed by their emotions, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure of how to move forward in their personal or professional lives. I work particularly well with those who are motivated to gain insight into their experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and make meaningful changes. Whether you’re seeking to rebuild confidence, improve communication in relationships, or find clarity during challenging times, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space to help you achieve your goals and create a more fulfilling life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is grounded in the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and by changing unhelpful thought patterns or behaviors, we can positively impact emotions and overall well-being. I will spend time understanding your concerns, challenges and goals. For example, if you struggle with depression, we will pinpoint situations that trigger it and explore the thoughts behind these feelings. I will explain the link between thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I’ll guide you to recognize the patterns between all or none thinking and catastrophizing. We will work together to learn to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts. I will teach relaxation and grounding techniques.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My focus when working with you would be to create a space where you feel safe, accepted, heard and understood. I will be nonjudgmental and allow you to express your thoughts and emotions without having fears of being criticized. My goal is to build trust in our relationship. I will focus on understanding your perspective by active listening. I would not impose my own solutions but would trust your ability to find the best answers for yourself. My role is to give you insight and clarity rather than direct them. For example, if you are struggling with a breakup, I’ll help you explore your values and emotions around the choice, instead of advising you on what to do.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Therapy is a short term, goal-oriented therapeutic approach that emphasizes building solutions rather than focusing on the problems. I would help you to realize your strengths and past successes. Figure out what is already working and how did you overcome difficulties in the past. I would help you to come up with clear, realistic goals. These goals would concentrate on what you want to achieve rather than what you want to avoid. For example, goal, “I am always stressed”, we would concentrate on goal, “I want to feel relaxed”. I would use the miracle question, and ask you, “If you woke up tomorrow and a miracle had happened, and all your problems were solved, what would be different. This will help you to think about your desired vision and begin to work on steps to accomplish your outcome. I have used this therapeutic approach when working with clients who are motivated for change, or who may feel stuck. It helps with stress, anxiety, career changes, relationships issues and life transitions.
