Greetings, I provide therapy for high-functioning adults who are tired of surviving, overthinking, people-pleasing, and repeating painful relationship patterns. I've helped clients overcome struggles with issues such as Substance use, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship issues, LGBTQ, Ethical Non-Monogamy/lifestyle concerns, Bipolar disorder, Personality disorders, Trauma including sexual, emotional and physical abuse. My upbringing as the child of an immigrant Caribbean mother, and experience growing up in Brooklyn, NY allows me to bring a unique perspective to the counseling experience. My Counseling style is warm, direct, collaborative, and nonjudgmental with a utilization of CBT, DBT, Psycho-educational, and Psychodynamic therapy. Together, we'll work on managing symptoms and understanding the experiences and beliefs that may be contributing to how you feel today. You are more than your trauma, Inner childhood wounds, and the labels placed on to you. I believe we are all unique individuals and therapy can be a space to understand yourself differently, strengthen your boundaries, develop healthier relationships, and create a life that feels more aligned with who you are now. Let's work together!
During our first session, we will review your background and history which will help set the framework for our sessions going forward.
My Counseling style is client centered with utilization of CBT, DBT, Psycho-educational, and Psychodynamic therapy. I will give homework if I feel it will be beneficial to your treatment. I also have worksheets I may utilize, and well as books I will recommend, if I feel like it will be helpful to you as well.
My biggest strength is really my experience, I have had a chance to work with a very diverse population of clients. I have worked in the school systems, Rehabilitation centers, Psychiatric hospitals and at a shelter. Clients working with me will be able to work and process through various issues without fear of judgment.

Leah was my therapist during a time that was incredibly challenging for me. She was there when I needed her the most and provided very honest care that helped me get through several enormous life changes. She is the best therapist I have ever had and understood me in a way that really opened my eyes to understanding myself better. Thank you, Leah. You changed my life.

I'm so appreciative to have such an empowering and empathetic therapist who not only understands what I'm going through but also offers judgment-free advice and lets me know I'm not alone. She helps me navigate through my feelings without minimizing my experience or making me feel like I'm overreacting, and that makes all the difference in the world for me!
