New to Grow
Celess Johnson is a dedicated and compassionate mental health professional committed to guiding individuals toward greater self-understanding, resilience, and overall mental wellness. After she transitioned from the United States Army, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Trauma and Crisis from Walden University. She began her career as a case manager in mental health hospital settings, where she worked closely with individuals experiencing severe and complex psychiatric diagnoses. During her graduate training, she further expanded her clinical expertise through an internship at a children's mental health facility, enriching her understanding of trauma-informed care across developmental stages. Driven by both her professional experience and personal journey, Celess is committed to delivering individualized support to children, adolescents, adults, and families. With her specialized training in trauma and crisis, she is experienced in treating severe mental health diagnoses, trauma-related conditions, as well as stress, depression, and anxiety. She utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach, tailoring interventions to meet each client’s unique needs and ensuring that treatment is personalized, flexible, and thoughtfully adapted to each client’s circumstances.
In our first session, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we explore your concerns, identify goals, and begin creating a plan tailored to your needs.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and creating a space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood. I take an integrative approach, tailoring therapy to each individual’s unique needs while helping clients process trauma, manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, and build emotional resilience. Clients often appreciate my ability to balance empathy with practical tools that support real-life healing, growth, and lasting change.
My ideal clients are adolescents, adults, and couples who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, and struggles with self-esteem or communication. Many come to therapy feeling stuck, unheard, exhausted, or disconnected from themselves and others. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can process emotions, develop healthy coping skills, improve communication, build confidence, and begin healing with intention. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, emotional balance, and lasting personal growth. My specialty areas include trauma and crisis intervention. I support individuals in navigating overwhelming emotions, life transitions, stress, and difficult life experiences while helping them build emotional stability, resilience, and confidence in themselves and their healing journey. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve been carrying so much on your own. You do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered in your healing journey.
