I went to school later in life and believe my life experiences helped me relate to most issues people may be dealing with. As a counselor, my goal is to walk with you to build upon your strengths and help you gain insight into what might be holding you back from having a fulfilling life. Taking the first step is difficult, but the journey can be so fulfilling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The initial visit is an opportunity to get to know each other and ensure we are a good fit. I will also gather data using a client intake form and clarify the client's intended therapy goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've been told many times that I am easy to talk to. I believe my life experiences and empathetic nature allow clients to feel safe sharing their lives.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Life can be filled with incredible challenges and demands. Are you dealing with stress, anxiety, sadness, worry, depression, or hopelessness? These feelings may stop you from reaching your full potential. My goal is to empower you by building upon your strengths and helping you gain insight into what might be holding you back from having a fulfilling life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Utilizing a client's thoughts and feelings can help understand negative feelings and unwanted behaviors. I incorporate CBT with talk therapy and utilize tools to help identify feelings and irrational thoughts.

Couples Counseling

I have worked with couples from the very beginning of my practice. I integrate emotional-focused therapy and CBT (communication tools) to help bring awareness to what is under the hurt, anger, frustration, and lack of intimacy.

Grief Therapy

I work with many clients who are struggling with grief. Grief can come in many areas of life not just a physical death but the loss of a relationship, job, friendship, etc. I utilized Worden's Four Tasks of Mourning to process the loss.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I utilized Mindfulness with all my clients since it helps to not only stay in the present moment but also has many exercises to help deal with anxiety and panic attacks.
