I work with individuals seeking meaningful change, greater clarity, and a stronger sense of self. My approach is grounded in warmth, empathy, and the ability to meet clients where they are—supporting them in feeling seen, understood, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges. My work is informed by more than 60 years of life experience, both professional and personal, which brings depth, perspective, and authenticity to the therapeutic process. After several careers and at age 50—supported by ten years of sobriety—I felt called to create a more fulfilling and intentional life. Through my own work in therapy and career counseling, I chose to return to school and build the life and practice I have today. This journey continues to shape my compassion, insight, and respect for the courage it takes to pursue growth and healing. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Santa Clara University in California. In alignment with California requirements for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I completed 3,000 supervised clinical internship hours at Almaden Valley Counseling Agency in San Jose, where I worked with individuals, couples, families, and children. This experience strengthened my ability to work across the lifespan and address a wide range of personal, relational, and emotional concerns.

You're a courageous person for making this often difficult first step, especially if you have never done therapy before. Whatever has been causing you pain, know that we will work together to understand the root causes and develop coping strategies that work. I am a therapist with many years of experience in both outpatient clinics and inpatient hospitals. I work with adults and teens and I specialize in treating depression, anxiety and trauma. The first half of my career I provided therapy to children and families, then later began working primarily with adults and teens. I have also led group therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings for adults and teenagers. My approach is collaborative and client centered, balancing both empathic attunement and taking a more active role with use of experiential techniques.

Hello, I’m Dr. Cami, a psychologist providing telehealth services to adults in California. I am a native of the Central Valley in California and come from a diverse cultural community. I currently reside in the beautiful country of Norway and enjoy downhill skiing, hiking, gardening, traveling, and learning new languages. As a psychologist, I am passionate about helping individuals develop helpful strategies to effectively navigate their path and the roadblocks that may arise on their journey in life. Upon feeling effective, it is a beautiful experience to walk with the individual as they re-story past hurts, emotions, and experiences into a story of empowerment and growth. As a therapist, this is the gift of therapy: a transactional experience of growth in the therapeutic relationship in which both I, and the client walk along the path of reclaiming self-compassion and identity. In my work, I use warmth, humor, and a nonjudgmental approach to develop a strong alliance with my clients, grounded in authenticity and acceptance. I view therapy as a collaborative experience in which I encourage clients to approach challenges with curiosity and self-compassion. My clients have described me as open to learning and understanding their cultural values and beliefs, warm, easy to talk to, empathic and humorous in session. If I were to use one sentence, to sum up my view of a healthy therapeutic treatment experience, it would be: Therapy, in its purity, is a place where an individual is validated, supported, and empowered to thrive on their path in life.

All things are interconnected. To feel better, you have to act better. To feel better, you have to think better. To think better, you have to feel better. To act better, you have to think better. To think, feel, and act better, you have to care for your physical health. To care for your physical health, you have to think, feel, and act better. Each has a corresponding effect on the other. However, the aspect of ourselves that we have the most direct control of is what we do, our acting. While we can influence other people, we cannot control other people. A great source of conflict and unhappiness results from our efforts to control others. If you want better relationships, the only thing we can control is what we do, how we choose to relate. We are responsible for what we do. Others are responsible for what they do. Accepting this fundamental reality and thinking, feeling, and acting in accordance with it is how we increase our experience of power, freedom, belonging, meaning and, very importantly, fun. My professional experience includes over 30 years of post-Master’s clinical work, including leadership experience in foster care, chemical abuse and addiction, inpatient and outpatient mental health services, and crisis intervention, de-escalation, and hospitalization. I am experienced in working with ages three through the elderly. I have worked extensively with youth and families, diverse populations and life issues, providing services in various settings, including family homes, schools, juvenile detention facilities, jails, outpatient clinics, and inpatient psychiatric facilities.

Ever since I was a young man, I had the desire to help others in need. My classmates told me that I should be a psychiatrist due to the fact I had a natural ability to read people very well. I am glad I get to do what I am passionate about for a living; it feels as if I am not working at all because I enjoy the work so much. My style of therapy is conversational. I would never ask what is wrong with you, but what is right with you. I’m a Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) who offers a warm, grounded space to slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and create meaningful change. My style is relational and attachment-informed—meaning we pay attention to patterns that show up in relationships (including ours), and how earlier experiences may shape the way you cope, connect, or protect yourself today. I’m also strengths-based and practical: we’ll build on what’s already working while using CBT tools to reduce overwhelm, challenge unhelpful thought loops, and practice skills that support steadier mood, boundaries, and healthier relationships. The impact my clients often experience is feeling more emotionally stable and confident in themselves, with a clearer understanding of their triggers and patterns. Over time, many people report improved self-compassion, stronger communication, more secure attachment in relationships, and an increased ability to tolerate difficult emotions without shutting down or spiraling. My goal is for you to leave therapy with both deeper insight and real-life tools so you can feel more connected, empowered, and able to live with authenticity and intention.

I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related stress, or feeling overwhelmed during life transitions. Many of my clients are individuals who feel emotionally drained, stuck, or disconnected from themselves, and are seeking support to regain balance, clarity, and confidence in their daily lives. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in behavioral health, care coordination, and trauma-informed practice. My professional background includes work across healthcare, nonprofit, and public-sector settings, supporting individuals at different stages of life. I currently focus on working with adults managing mild to moderate mental-health concerns, including the emotional impact of medical conditions and major life changes. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and practical. I meet clients where they are, helping them better understand their thoughts and emotions while building skills they can apply outside of sessions. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are new to therapy, and I bring a thoughtful, experienced approach to understanding symptoms and diagnosis to help guide meaningful, appropriate care in a supportive and respectful space.

Hello and Welcome! Life is too short to surrender to bad relationships, holding grudges, carrying guilt, poor boundaries, trauma that control us, or being anxious/angry all of the time. I would like to help you free yourself from emotional pain, deal with life on life's terms, and to experience a satisfying life. I will do my best to provide you a balance of constructive advice, honest feedback, empathy, humor, and warmth. I have a lot of experience working with individuals struggling in relationship. I can help with anxiety, trauma, grief, and much more. I also do relationship work with individuals. I know that sometimes the loneliest place is in a relationship that is not working. While I'm not accepting couples, there is some amazing work that can be done when one partner changes their patterns. I can teach you how to talk so that your loved ones will listen, and teach you how to listen so that your loved ones will feel heard by you. We can break patterns that aren't work, and learn how to be in a balanced and healthy relationship. I welcome diverse cultures and the LGBTQ community.
