Hello and welcome! It brings me so much joy that you are taking this first big step of showing up for yourself. The task of finding a clinician can be overwhelming in itself, on top of stress or other issues you may already be experiencing. Take a second and give yourself a little pat on the back, you're doing it! My Name is Raven and I'm a licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I have been practicing for 10 years. My practice has been centered around supporting people of all ages experiencing anxiety and depression, particular in connection to life transitions, family of origin issues, relationships struggles, social anxiety, self-esteem, and boundary setting. I strongly believe in creating a welcoming, and non-judgmental space where all of you can be accepted and explored. I am not the expert of your life you are, you have more lived experience being you than I EVER will. I would like to be a collaborative partner and create a safe space where we are able to bring awareness to how certain experiences, behavior patterns or relationships are possibly impacting your wellbeing and preventing you from being the version of yourself that brings you the most joy and fulfillment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will take time to do introductions, I will be asking lots of questions and making sure to answer yours too. Some might feel real personal, some might not, but from the start it’s all about you feeling comfortable. During the following sessions we will continue to explore these topics and reveal more layers of yourself. This is to help me have a better understanding of your mental health needs and goals. This will lead to developing a personalized treatment plan and at least 1 to 2 goals that will help guide our sessions . I know life isn't as simple as A+B=C so new things might come up that we need to address or the existing goals may need to be altered, flexibility and openness is key.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I see myself as having a supportive and gentle approach, but will challenge you to go deeper or hold you accountable when needed. Over the years I've learned that some of the most important factors of a client being able to reach their goals is learning how to have patience and grace for themselves. It is such a privilege to be a part of someone’s journey of discovery during that process.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with adults who are from urban communities or new to therapy. Who are wanting to create change in their life but possibly don't know where to start. Who are open to figuring out how to show up for themselves outside of session. I believe healing doesn't only happen through psychotherapy but in conjunction with community, new experiences, daily routines, self- care, and mindfulness. Therapy is a stepping stone in the healing process.
