I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with 24 years of experience helping adults in a variety of mental health settings. I presently offer online individual therapy for adults residing in California. My style is interactive, collaborative, supportive, strength-based, and solution-focused. Each session is tailored to your individual needs. Therapy can be as brief as a few weeks or longer depending on your treatment goals.
Our first session includes getting to know you, your strengths, and identifying your goals for therapy.
My approach is interactive and collaborative. Let's find solutions together.
Therapy is often a uniquely welcoming, supportive, and safe space for many clients. Each session encourages an open and honest exploration of problems and lasting solutions.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an effective way to reduce distress, develop healthier ways of managing emotions, and improve relationships.
An eclectic approach uses different therapy techniques. For example, we may use mindfulness for stress reduction or cognitive behavioral therapy techniques in addition to a psychodynamic approach.

Finding a good partner takes time, and I believe that I found Dr. Kohlstorm at the perfect time and stage of my life. What drew me to him when searching for a therapist was his years of experience and his specialties. Being able to talk with him through my life's transitions, grief, and trauma makes me look forward to our weekly sessions. I truly appreciate his analogies and perspectives.

I have been experiencing anxiety for about 2 months and finally decided to ask for professional help. My first few minutes with Dr. Kohlstrom set my body as ease. He listened so good! Good listeners are precious gems and that alone would have been enough. But he also compassionately reflected back to me what I already knew. He gave me the courage to accept it and make 1 necessary next step. I picked him off intuition and can wholeheartedly say, it was the absolute best choice. Highly Recommend
