Hi, I'm Penny! This quote has been posted in my office for decades, and guides my therapy practice. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over twenty years of experience working with children, youth, and adults. I am passionate about supporting clients who are recovering from childhood trauma, experiencing life transitions (pregnant, parenting, divorce, career changes, perimenopause ), or dealing with anxiety and depression.
My faith and personal journey with healing drives my desire to serve others. As a survivor, I understand how we feel when we don’t address our traumas, how we begin to isolate ourselves, how our feelings of disconnection can get in the way of feeling fully present in our relationships. I know with guidance, support and compassion, we can re integrate our parts towards wholeness again.
Hello and Welcome to the first step toward emotional healing. Healing Through Connection is my personal philosophy and lifelong vision to reach people who feel lost, hopeless, lonely, disconnected, uncertain, and grief ridden. I use a unique blend of professional and personal experiences that drive connection. I believe that we all find ourselves in seasons of life where we need to be reconnected with our worth, understand our experiences, and overcome our battles.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience across a wide range of healthcare settings — including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient mental health centers, and private clinics. I specialize in supporting adults navigating depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I genuinely love helping clients build a growth mindset and translate new skills into real, everyday life. My core belief is simple: every person already holds the strength and resilience to overcome what life throws at them — my role is to help you find and trust that power within yourself. I offer sessions in both English and Korean.
Hello.
Are you experiencing low energy, low motivation, trouble sleeping, irritability, poor concertation? or feeling sad, worried, anxious or stressed about your negative/intrusive thoughts? The truth is, that everyone experiences Anxiety or Depression at some point in their life, but these conditions are treatable and you do not have to go through them alone. I am here to help.
My name is Tina. I am a Latina, a mother and a therapist with 20 years of experience treating children and adults with Anxiety and/or Depression. I also specialize in Maternal Mental Health and/or any other issue related to pregnancy and motherhood.
I would love to help you find calmness, balance and a more positive approach to coping with life stressors that often create Anxiety and/or Depression.
Life often brings us questions—the "whys" behind our anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. We try to make sense of the senseless, but the answers remain elusive. My practice, WhysCounselor, acknowledges the "whys" that bring you to therapy while guiding you to discover your deeper, motivating "why"—your reason for seeking change. Here’s the truth: while we may never answer every "why," we absolutely can change how those unanswered questions have affected you. You might think that if others would change, or if your difficult feelings would just disappear, things would be better.
But there is one thing you can change that will fundamentally improve everything: the way you see yourself. I work with people dealing with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues who are motivated and ready to do the work. My focus is on helping you manage symptoms and find practical tools for daily life. Make meaningful changes in your behaviors to
reflect the person you want to be. Heal the most neglected relationship in your life: the one with yourself. Our work together will be about building a healthy relationship with yourself first. I am trained in Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

I am Sharlisa Byrd, LMFT (CA & OR), SEP, TITC-CT, CCHt, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients in California and Oregon. I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Certified Clinical Traumatologist. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the Flash Technique.
My work focuses on helping individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress, with a deep understanding of how these experiences become held within the body and nervous system. I use a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach that integrates somatic and mind-body techniques to support emotional regulation, resilience, and lasting healing.
I have experience supporting individuals navigating concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, parenting challenges, attachment issues, complex relationship dynamics, life transitions for adolescents and young adults, domestic violence recovery, sexual abuse recovery, psychosis, and African American identity concerns.

I often describe my role as a manufacturer of hope and healing, supporting individuals as they move beyond survival and toward becoming post-traumatic thrivers.
