My goal in my counseling is to help my clients live deeply fulfilling lives. I help clients increase their psychological flexibility through various tools and approaches including evidence-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to change their thought patterns. I use experiential approaches including Hypnotherapy to work with subconscious minds and remove blocks that are deep in their psyche. I also provide mindfulness training, which is one of the key techniques for the clients to be more present and accepting in their lives, rather than react reflexively. Each individual's struggles are complex and tied to many factors including their social environment, their physical health, the phases of their lives, skills they already possess, etc. In other words, change can happen in a variety of ways and that's what counseling can help with, pointing out the direction and even the next steps that can help the client to get to their goals and intentions. I work with clients experiencing sleep disorders, chronic pain, anxiety, mood issues, ADHD, career counseling, and those who simply need a tune-up.
We'll get to the bottom of what needs to happen over the next few months to meet clients' goals.
My biggest strength is working with clients on changing their daily habits, which is the most important change a person can make in their lives. Once good habits start building up, the sky is the limit to the transformation that takes place.
I work primarily with young and middle-aged adults, who are feeling overwhelmed by their daily responsibilities, while at the same time wanting to get more clear on what in their life is most fulfilling to them.
Based on psychological flexibility theory that explains why we might struggle with certain internal experiences, whether it leads to an official mental health disorder or causes undue emotional distress.
Mindfulness-based approach to hypnotherapy, while using some hypnotic techniques to achieve deeper experience of trance in order to reprogram the unconscious patterns.
Mindfulness is by far the most effective personal development tool. The only issue is that clients often face challenges when first starting out with this practice that can be overcome with a guided practice and personalized approach.
I'm not a classically trained psychoanalyst but I was trained by a Jungian therapist that encouraged a more eclectic approach incorporating some Jungian principles that include dreamwork, shadow work, archetypes, and active dreaming.
I get a long of inspiration from Positive Psychology research into optimal states of functioning including flow states, gratitude journaling, eco therapy, and enhancing positive emotions in personal relationships.
