I started my career as a marriage and family therapist working in residential settings with youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. As a child, I experienced trauma when my family had to flee as refugees from a war-torn country. Applying my own history and experiences, I am able to connect with my clients, understand their experiences, and help them deal with their trauma head-on. As a clinician, I try to understand each individual holistically, including their background and the strengths they already possess, to provide an individualized approach.
In our initial session we will start with a brief introduction, which will include a bit about me and my style and answer any questions you may have. We will then spend the remainder of the session discussing what brings you in, gather historical and current information, what you hope to gain and set goals.
I have a great deal of experience and understanding working with individuals with anxiety, depression related to motherhood, careers and relationships. I am able to build rapport and alliance with each of my clients that helps them feel safe and comfortable in sessions.
I work with individuals who are looking to gain insight into themselves and improve their quality of life. I believe that establishing a strong alliance with your client is essential to getting the most out of therapy and creating lasting change. Through this alliance, I partner with my clients to explore and address thoughts and behaviors that serve as barriers to enjoying life fully.
