I have been working in the mental wellness field for over 15 years. What I find to be most helpful is to build a relationship with people first, I utilize person-centered therapy at the core although I will work to alter the therapeutic approach to meet individuals' needs through counseling. While I might be skilled in the process, you are the expert on yourself, and I look forward to walking through therapy with you to identify areas of growth you would like to explore.
Clients are welcome to ask as many questions as they would like of me as they should be seeing if I would be the right fit for them as well, therapy is based on the relationship to explore growth. I also will ask questions to get to know them, their history with therapy, as well as what has brought them to therapy now.
I have learned that the most important thing to provide is a safe and welcoming space to hold for individuals in order to explore and grow. Holding space while experiencing the feelings that arise are the core to my focus while I walk alongside you in your journey to growth and recovery.
I am focused on building the relationship first and foremost, then learning the initial reasons they have entered therapy as well as past therapy experiences. My approach is to help walk alongside individuals to help them find their path through the theraputic process to achieve their goals in therapy.
