(she/they)
Hello, my name is Lee Sutherland, LCPC, ATR. I am an Artist, Art Therapist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. With a passion for creativity and mental health wellness, I created Loamy Creative Wellness, LLC to be a virtual therapeutic art studio that serves as a creative digital portal to make space for freedom, love, connection, curiosity & authenticity. I’ve had the privilege of working with people of all ages, using art-making to promote emotional healing and transformation. I’ve seen firsthand how art can support individuals in processing trauma, anxiety, and depression, and I’m committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for people to explore their creativity, internal world, and experiences. I assist folks through individual therapy, group art therapy, creative workshops, mindfulness, and artists/creatives support spaces. I function from a relational, ecowomanism, afrofuturism and Black Queer feminist framework where I use creative processes, curiosity, and compassion as a guide to assist folks in making the shifts, naming experience, and moving towards value aligned living. The modalities that I weave into my practice are DBT, ACT, and CPT. I also use mindfulness and body practices with the purpose of integrating the body, mind, and spirit. If you’re seeking a supportive and experienced guide on your healing journey, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
In our first session we will engage in a gratitude mindfulness practice, make space to hear your story and what brings you to therapy, and start to cultivate our therapeutic relationship.
My greatest strengths as a provider are that I am very open and compassionate. I am really able to hold a supportive and nonjudgemental space to foster curiosity and move towards value alignment when it comes to navigating concerns and challenges. I also am passionate and knowledgeable about trauma, mindfulness, and creative processes in therapy.
I provide therapy and therapeutic art services to people who want to heal from traumatic experiences. People that want to soften their inner critic and make internal shifts to move towards values, purpose, and compassion. People who want to shift into creative living. People who want to reconnect to their most authentic, and liberated self. People who want to learn how to accept and understand their emotions without judgment. People who no longer want to feel stuck and hopeless.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
We can use ACT to assist with learning to accept unpleasant thoughts, emotions, or experiences, while defining and moving towards your own personal values and identify ways you can take action that you believe in.
Somatic
Somatic psychotherapy is a body-centered approach to healing. We would use somatic therapy to become more aware of the body and its response past trauma, learn to sense and disrupt habitual patterns, release emotions, and expand presence.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
We can use DBT to focus on learning to balance and tolerate opposites, while practicing acceptance and working towards change. We can explore and practice mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation skills.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
We can use Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction to cultivate a more accepting, less judgmental perspective on your life and learn ways to manage stress.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
We can use CPT to assisting challenging your trauma-related thoughts and beliefs that are making you feel stuck. CPT can make room to reconceptualize your trauma experience and reduce PTSD symptoms.

I, originally, sought out Lee's help for my depression, ADHD, and to work with my past trauma. So far, Lee's personality is warm, friendly, down-to-earth, and authentic. I haven't tried DBT or art therapy before but I'm excited to explore that method with Lee. Overall, I look forward to working with her.

With these last few sessions, Lee has definitely helped me open up about things I didn’t really think about as much by myself. I feel more inspired to continue to heal genuinely.
