LCPC, 35 years of experience
If you have seen the movie “Groundhog day” starring Bill Murray as Phil, you would say it is a comedy. But it is more. He finally breaks out of his dull, repetitive life not by changing his surroundings or anyone else; he changes himself. Just like Phil, if you don’t change something, nothing will change. That is the purpose of counseling: to help you try something different, to change something about yourself, to help you become the best YOU. Whether you are in a tough spot or just have issues you want to address, I am here to help. I am a licensed clinical counselor and a licensed marriage and family counselor. I have 30+ years of experience treating: • Addictions • Mental illnesses • Depression • Trauma and abuse recovery • Anger management and more If I can’t help, I will connect you with someone who can. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be looking for and help build the life you so deeply deserve. I currently have daytime openings on Tuesdays for video or online appointments. Starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, and scary all at the same time. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I enjoy a diversity of clients from varied backgrounds. In my opinion, all therapy is to a greater or lesser degree cross-cultural as cultural norms are changing rapidly, possibly as rapidly as every 5 years, and families are more or less cultures unto themselves. The developmental challenges each person faces are similar, but they are encountered in each person's individualized culture.
I enjoy helping people who are struggling to gain or regain their footing and move forward. I seem to connect well with all ages of adults, and practicing Christians who are seeking help. I aim to create a safe, welcoming environment that lets clients explore their feelings. I focus on helping clients develop firm boundaries and communication skills. Both are learned strengths that can improve quality of life.
I am trained in Cognitive/Behavioral, Psychodynamic, & Systems theories. I utilize whichever perspective resonates with a client.

Bill is easy to talk to, a great listener, and always does his best to offer practical solutions to whatever may be happening. I always look forward to the times we meet.
