I have over ten years of experience providing mental health counseling services to individuals in multiple settings. I provide Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (meaning I talk a lot about thoughts and behaviors as well as coping strategies), and I am an EMDR therapist (meaning I see plenty of people with a history of trauma). Most of my experience is with people who have depression, anxiety, and/or trauma-related problems. I have also treated many children (around the ages of 8-12). I thoroughly enjoy listening to people and watching truth and wisdom emerge from even very dark places.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will spend some time getting to you know you and letting you know some of what you can expect from me. Most of the appointment will be dedicated to discussing your history and current symptoms.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as how they interact with one another to produce your mental and emotional states. We will discuss these factors to discover what changes may help you. EMDR (Eye-Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing) is a treatment designed to help people mentally process very difficult (usually traumatic) information. I am a trained EMDR therapist and have been providing this for the past few years with significant success.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have treated many people with trauma, depression, and anxiety; therefore, my strengths lie in these areas. In addition to my degree in therapy, I have a master's degree in theology, and I enjoy integrating some of these concepts into counseling if (and only if) it is requested.
