Hello, I’m Allison Patrick, a licensed therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate grief, trauma, chronic illness, caregiving responsibilities, and life’s many transitions. I believe that healing happens when people feel truly seen, heard, and supported, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients can show up exactly as they are without fear of judgment. My professional background includes working in hospice care, where I had the privilege of supporting individuals and families facing serious illness, end-of-life concerns, and profound loss. Those experiences deepened my understanding of grief in all its forms and reinforced my belief that every person’s journey is unique. Whether you are mourning the death of a loved one, coping with anticipatory grief, adjusting to a major life change, or learning to live with a chronic health condition, I offer compassionate support tailored to your needs. I also work with individuals who have experienced trauma, helping them process difficult experiences, develop healthy coping skills, and build a stronger sense of safety and self-compassion. For caregivers, I understand the emotional, physical, and mental demands that come with caring for others and the importance of finding balance while navigating those responsibilities. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help guide, support, and empower you as you work toward your goals. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing, identify your strengths, and create meaningful change. Seeking support takes courage, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they move through difficult seasons, discover resilience, and find hope, healing, and renewed purpose.
Our first session is a time for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust and comfort. I’ll start by asking what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—only what feels comfortable for you. We’ll also talk about your current challenges, relevant history, and any important life experiences that may be shaping what you’re going through right now. This may include areas such as grief and loss, trauma, chronic illness, caregiving responsibilities, or other stressors impacting your well-being. My goal is to understand your story in a way that helps us tailor therapy to your needs. The first session is also a space for you to ask questions about the therapy process, my approach, and what working together might look like. I want you to feel informed and empowered in deciding whether I am the right fit for you. We will not rush into deep processing unless you feel ready. Instead, we will focus on creating safety, identifying priorities, and beginning to set goals for our work together. By the end of the session, we’ll start outlining a direction for therapy and discuss next steps. Most importantly, my hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of how we can move forward together at a pace that feels right for you.
In my sessions, I bring a grounded, compassionate, and steady presence, shaped by years of experience working with individuals and families facing grief, trauma, chronic illness, and caregiving stress. My background in hospice care deeply informs my ability to sit with people in some of life’s most painful and uncertain moments without rushing the process or trying to “fix” what needs to be witnessed and understood. One of my core strengths is my ability to meet clients where they are. I understand that healing does not follow a straight line, and I work collaboratively to support each person’s unique pace, needs, and goals. Clients often share that they feel genuinely heard, not judged, and supported in a way that allows them to open up more fully over time. I also bring a strong focus on both emotional processing and practical coping. While we make space for grief, trauma, and complex emotions, I also help clients develop tools to manage daily stressors, regulate emotions, and rebuild a sense of stability in their lives. This balance between depth and practicality helps clients feel both supported and empowered. My approach stands out because it is rooted in real-world experience with end-of-life care and long-term illness, which brings a deeper understanding of loss, caregiving strain, and resilience. I hold space for the full range of human experience—pain, uncertainty, strength, and growth—and help clients reconnect with their own capacity for healing, even in the most difficult circumstances.
I work with adults navigating grief, loss, or life changes that feel too heavy to carry alone. Many clients come after the death of a parent, partner, or loved one, or while experiencing caregiver fatigue or anticipatory grief. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward, therapy can help you find balance, clarity, and hope.
Other specialties
I identify as
Grief Therapy
Grief therapy helps individuals navigate the emotional pain of loss—whether from death, separation, or major life changes. Grief therapy is important because it reminds us that you don’t have to walk through loss alone. Having support can ease the weight of isolation, help you make sense of what you’re feeling, and allow space for both tears and moments of hope. My goal is to walk alongside you as you learn to live with your grief and slowly discover the possibility of meaning, connection, and healing again.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective and widely used approaches in therapy. It helps people understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Often, we get caught in unhelpful thought patterns that increase stress, anxiety, or sadness. CBT provides practical tools to recognize those patterns, challenge them, and replace them with more balanced and supportive ways of thinking.
Christian Counseling
For clients who wish to bring faith into the healing process, I offer Christian counseling that blends spiritual support with professional care. For those who are not seeking a faith-based approach, I provide the same compassionate space to honor your story and support your journey in a way that feels true to you.

I shared a short but honest overview of my life with Alli so she could understand where I’ve been, what I’ve been through, and where I’m at now. I wanted her to get the full picture in one conversation and decide if she felt she could help someone like me moving forward. She accepted the challenge.
