Rose Desdunes

LCSW (she/her)26 years of experience

Have you spent years taking care of everyone else, only to find yourself wondering who takes care of you? Perhaps you’re navigating changes in your relationships, feeling overwhelmed by life’s responsibilities, or experiencing the emotional shifts that can come with perimenopause and menopause. Maybe you’re entering a new chapter of life and finding yourself questioning who you are, what you need, and what you want moving forward. You deserve to feel heard, supported, and cared for, too. Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia with over 26 years of experience helping adults navigate life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s Degree from Rutgers University, and I believe therapy should be a compassionate, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, explore your concerns without judgment, and begin creating meaningful change.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia.

First session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, trusting relationship. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, the challenges you’re experiencing, and what you hope to change. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals and developing a plan that reflects your needs, priorities, and pace. You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin, We’ll work through things together.

Strengths

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you don’t have to figure everything out on your own. Together, we’ll explore pattens that may be affecting your well-being, strengthen your communication skills, and identify practical ways to manage stress, improve relationships, and prioritize your own needs. My goal is to help you feel more confident in yourself, more intentional in your relationships, and more hopeful about the chapter ahead.

Ideal clients

I work with adults across the lifespan and welcome women who are navigating the complexities of midlife, changing relationships, and major life transitions. You may be adjusting to perimenopause or menopause, experiencing shifts in family or partnership dynamics, struggling to communicate your needs, or wondering how to make more room for yourself after years of putting others first. You may also be working through anxiety, stress, changing responsibilities, questions about identity and purpose, or the desire to establish healthier boundaries. Whatever brings you to therapy, you deserve a space where your experiences matter and your needs are taken seriously. This chapter of your life can be an opportunity to reconnect with yourself. Together, we can work towards greater self-understanding, healthier communications, more fulfilling relationships, and the confidence to move forward with greater clarity and compassion for yourself.
