I am a certified psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner trained to diagnose and treat individuals who have mental health disorders. I have 5 years of experience prescribing psychotropic medications and over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I help adults with mental health concerns develop and implement a plan to begin feeling better. I am currently accepting limited new patients in Ohio for virtual or in-person evaluation and medication management.
Our initial visit will be a diagnostic evaluation during which we will review your mental health concerns and history in detail to determine whether medication could be helpful for you. If you are already taking medications, we will discuss the safety/effectiveness of these to determine whether any changes should be made. I will share my thoughts on your diagnosis, treatment options and answer any questions you may have. - This appointment will typically take at least 1 hour and may take up to 4 hours if time allows; 2-3 hours is typical. I understand this is a lot of time, so please let me know if you have time constraints. We can always complete the evaluation over multiple visits if needed. During follow-up visits, we will review your symptoms and whether your medications are helping or causing any negative side effects. We will discuss potential medication adjustments and other treatment/lifestyle recommendations to help improve your symptoms as well. - Follow-up visits will typically occur every 1-12 weeks depending on your individual needs and can take ~15 minutes to ~2 hours depending on your preferences and needs. How I bill insurance companies for our visits: - I use the "medical decision making" model of billing which considers the following factors when determining the appropriate medication management code to use: Number/complexity of diagnoses, amount/complexity of data to be reviewed, and the risk of complications with treatment. - Possible billing codes for the medical portion of our initial evaluation are: 99203, 99204 or 99205. - Possible billing codes for the medical portion of our follow-up visits are: 99213, 99214 or 99215. - When more than 16 minutes is spent on topics that are considered to be therapy (which can include medication education, problem solving around stressors, etc.), another code will be added to bill for the therapy portion of our appointment. - Possible add-on codes for therapy are: 90833 for 16-37 minutes, 90836 for 38-52 minutes, or 90838 for 53 or more minutes. Please feel free to reach out to Grow Therapy or your insurance company with questions about cost for appointments.
