LIFE be LIFING… From the outside, you’re holding it together—but inside, you’re exhausted and running on empty. Your mind won’t slow down, your emotions feel heavy, and you’re just trying to get through the day. You may even be experiencing compassion fatigue—giving so much to others that there’s nothing left for you. You don’t have to keep doing this alone. I help you move out of survival mode, gain clarity, and feel more grounded, calm, and in control. I’m a compassionate and direct therapist who believes healing starts with feeling seen, heard, and understood without judgment. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use recovery, compassion fatigue, relationship challenges, and overwhelming life stressors. My approach is practical, supportive, and grounded in helping clients better understand themselves while building healthier coping skills, emotional balance, and stronger boundaries. I strive to create a space where clients can show up authentically, process difficult experiences, and work toward meaningful, lasting change at their own pace.

I have always had the conscious goal of supporting others with being able to overcome their hardships and internal challenges that prevents them from being successful. I am a firm believer that in life we have all experienced some type of challenge that will impact our thoughts and emotions. For some people the challenge is more difficult than others and they will experience greater hardship and internal challenges that will send them on a spiral to the unknown. Being a therapist has always been a desire of mine to support others with understanding their thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors associated with how they feel.

Throughout my career, I've worked in hospitals, behavioral health, crisis intervention, and medical settings, supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and overwhelming stress. My experience has allowed me to work with people from diverse backgrounds while providing compassionate, evidence-based care. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed approaches to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthy coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change. I especially enjoy working with adults who have spent so much time taking care of everyone else that they've forgotten how to care for themselves. Trauma hurts. It can be sudden, life-altering and overwhelming, or chronic, subtle and nearly unnoticeable, but either way it can change the way we think about others, the world, and unfortunately, ourselves. Dealing with the aftermath—changes in our relationships, lashing out toward self or others, feeling nothing and/or everything all at once—is sometimes as hard as the initial event, especially when society, friends and family and our own minds tell us to “just get over it.” Worse, sometimes we aren’t even sure where the trauma came from in the first place, leaving us confused and even feeling hopeless. If you could just “get over it,” you would, but sometimes the brain simply cannot process traumatic events without help, and this is why trauma therapy exists. :) I'm an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in Texas. I've been in practice for nearly 15 years and have been doing EMDR therapy for 13 of those. I specialize in helping teens and adults process trauma of all kinds. My goal is to help my clients gain the skills needed to process and adapt to traumatic memories, and then allow them to do so in a safe environment. I teach them how to build boundaries and follow through, and to treat themselves with self-compassion rather than judgment and harsh expectations. Trauma doesn’t have to ruin (or run) your life. If you’re hurting, please know I’d be happy to help in any way I can.

Life can get messy sometimes. Between work, relationships, family expectations, and just trying to take care of yourself, it’s easy to feel pulled in every direction. If you’ve been carrying too much or feeling weighed down by anxiety, stress, or old wounds, I want you to know you don’t have to go through it alone. My clients tell me it feels like talking to someone who truly “gets it.” As someone who understands the pressures of navigating multiple cultures, I bring that sensitivity into my work while welcoming people from all backgrounds. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s been weighing on you and find practical ways to bring more peace, clarity, and connection into your life. Hi, I’m Myrakle Betancourt, LCSW. I’m a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional, a doctoral candidate, and the owner of The Myrakle Space. I created this practice with one belief at the center. You deserve a space where you don’t have to hold it all together all the time, and where your growth is taken seriously, gently, and personally. If you’re a young adult figuring out what comes next after high school, college, or a major life shift, I will work with you to sort through the overwhelm, the uncertainty, and the pressure of “having to have it all figured out.” If you’re a professional in a high-demand role, especially first responders or mental health providers, I can help you slow down, manage stress, and address burnout before it takes more from you than it already has. If you’re coming in as a couple or a family, I’m here to help you actually hear each other again. We work on communication, understanding generational differences, and rebuilding connection in ways that feel real, not forced. And if you’re a parent or child navigating school, behavior, or emotional challenges, I focus on giving you practical tools and support so things feel less reactive and more manageable. When you work with me, you’re not just getting strategies you’re getting a space where you can be honest about what’s really going on without judgment or pressure. My goal is to meet you where you are and walk with you as you build something healthier, steadier, and more aligned for your life.
