I am a bilingual, licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, parents, children, and families through community organizations. I specialize in working with women and children survivors of crime, domestic violence, and abuse issues. My communication style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and validated. Through active listening and thoughtful questions, I help clients gain clarity, identify strengths, and develop practical strategies for reaching their goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we'll take time to explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I'll gather some background information and answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. Most importantly, we'll begin building a trusting relationship that will serve as the foundation for our work together. You can expect a warm, supportive environment where you feel safe to share your experiences and start your journey towards healing and growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My goal is to help you navigate life's challenges with resilience, self-awareness, and a renewed sense of purpose. Whether you're facing a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety or depression, healing from trauma, or seeking personal growth, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Together, we'll identify your unique strengths, develop coping strategies, and create a roadmap for achieving your goals and living a more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy is solution-focused, strength-based, and trauma-informed. I draw upon modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Grief and Loss, Psychoeducational, Motivational and Interpersonal Interviewing, and Supportive treatments to fit your specific needs. I provide culturally sensitive and person-centered care, adapting my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Christian-based counseling is also available upon request for those seeking to integrate their faith with the therapeutic process.

Couples Counseling

My approach to couples counseling is to encourage skill-based learning around communication styles, active listening, conflict resolution, parenting skills, rebuilding intimacy and trust within relationships. Couples will learn about the 5 Love Languages theory of practice to identify their own needs and those of their partner to integrate into their daily interactions for a more loving relationship. We will learn about different relationship dynamics, such as, Healthy vs Unhealthy vs Abusive characteristics to bring insight and learning.
