Debbie Gonzalez is a licensed mental health therapist in Texas dedicated to supporting individuals and communities in their healing journeys. As a Latinx clinician, she brings both professional experience and lived understanding of how culture, race, identity and systemic issues impact mental health. Debbie offers compassionate, affirming and culturally responsive space where you can feel seen heard and supported. She believes in the power of community, resilience and self-care, especially for those of us who have historically been underserved or overlooked in mental health spaces. You deserve a space where all parts of you are welcome and I'm honored to create that space with you.
The first session is about an hour long so I can get as much history and information about your mental health. The sessions after that will be about 45 minutes. If you need longer or shorter sessions, please discuss this with me.
As a Latinx therapist, Debbie understands the barriers to receiving mental health treatment due to cultural and familial factors and will help her clients break generational trauma to achieve emotional and mental stability.
Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, identity exploration, intergenerational challenges, or just trying to make sense of life, she's here to walk alongside you - without judgment and deep respect for your story. I will work with you to learn how to cope, obtain support, promote healing, understand your wants and needs, learn how difficult events in your life impact your daily functioning, develop healthy communication skills and learn about the grieving process.
Debbie uses a cultural approach to address anxiety, depression, trauma, stress and grief. Debbie's cultural perspective in therapy allows her to be warm and empathetic with her clients when it comes to cultural barriers to receiving and accepting mental health treatment.
